I will cuntpunt the motherfucker that planted the idea of distcc into my brain, after I figure that person's identity. This is seriously annoying to get working, but the idea is too fucking cool to ignore.
Now try setting up cross distcc! And maybe thow some ccache in there too.
I seriously feel like kicking a puppy right now. Fuck this.

The log says you're on 64bit. Is multiarch enabled? dpkg --add-architecture i386 sudo apt-get update If that doesn't work... Waldorf is Wheezy, right? You could try this: https://github.com/GhostSquad57/Steam-Installer-for-Wheezy

I compiled the latest stable kernel with grsecurity patches. If anyone wants it: http://files.nikomo.fi/kernel/
I just bought a couple of domains and I need all the pictures of RMS you guys have for the rms.sexy domain. I'm gonna use killallje.ws for misc content hosting (not racist stuff)\ [t]http://i.imgur.com/gSXMhQI.png[/t]
rms.sexy
So they actually went through with that domain? What happened to .xxx being the standard? [editline]e[/editline] Oh.
I scraped the rms working http://rms.sexy/img/ BUT I need more pics. Please give them if you have them. This website will praise our gnu/lord and gnu/savior.
I'm also buying a domain today for my project. Turns out though the Antergos project (guys who made Cinnarch) named their GUI installer "Cnchi". The fuck man. Now I need a new name, and I've only got a day to think of one. [editline]27th February 2014[/editline] Think we're just gonna go with one of our backup names now...
Debian technical committee is gathering 7 minutes at irc.debian.org #debian-ctte I need to leave my place at that time, but I'm in the channel so I can read logs later, I wonder if there's going to be trolling involved. [editline]27th February 2014[/editline] A few minor trolls from /g/ going on about OpenRC being better than systemd, pretty lightweight, not much happened discussion-wise.
Hey again guys, I'm still having problems with my LAN on Linux. I installed the latest BIOS, tried actually using UEFI, tried installing the kernel from source and various other things and it just doesn't want to work. Would it be helpful if I posted images of what happens during boot (and sometimes what doesn't)? There is some really wierd things that happen that I can't explain without actually showing you.
I finished my website in honor of our GNU/lord and GNU/savior. http://rms.sexy/
My website is up too! http://www.cinpli.com/ I feel the video will adequately describe Cinpli, until I finish the actual site. [editline]27th February 2014[/editline] And nothing else is called Cinpli! I checked!!!
That video makes me want to download it 10 times and put it on everything
rilez I'm gonna need an code to register on the site
I've set it to approval for now, so you can try again. Gonna leave it closed until I'm ready to release What do you guys consider the "best" anti-aliased font package on Linux? Ubuntu's? Infinality? Not sure what to use, and if there are others I don't know about.
Personally, I'd go with ubuntu's one. I heard the guy who made the infinality patches contributes to the ubuntu font package. Also infinality looks like it hasn't been updated in ages.
Personally, I'd go with ubuntu's one. I heard the guy who made the infinality patches contributes to the ubuntu font package. Also infinality looks like it hasn't been updated in ages.
Infinality is maintained on Arch by a guy named Bohoomil. But I think I have to agree that Ubuntu's patches generally look better. Both patches have their issues, but Ubuntu is generally more crisp.
I'm still on the fence about whether the maintenance overhead of patched font packages is worth it. I finally got around to reading up on font configuration in Arch (without any patched packages) and it's amazing what a difference a small config file and a few symlinks can do. Personally I don't think it's worth adding another AUR package or custom repo just for some incremental (and possibly subjective) font improvements.
Rilez please fix the site... [t]http://i.imgur.com/WnV04EG.png[/t] I liked the old look better
I'm messing with the theme at the moment, it should look the way it did soon. Right now though I'm focusing on load speeds. I'm using concrete5 to build my site, and it seems like it's increasing the load time considerably. The forums load twice as fast (and aren't using concrete5). I'm still pretty inexperienced when it comes to web hosting, so I'm not sure what to do. :( [editline]1st March 2014[/editline] The load times aren't terrible, but I feel like they should be faster considering how little there is on the page
Are you using a CDN or hosting everything yourself? Whichever one it is, try switching to the other one :P
I had to install some gstreamer plugins for Firefox to load music from Soundcloud's HTML5 player, which makes sense. Can these be redistributed? I'm talking about the "bad" and "ugly" packages on Arch - things like h.264 and mp3 codec support. Or are they just labeled "bad" and "ugly" because they're proprietary? Also, are there any other codecs or packages that you all would consider "essential" but aren't necessarily something the user would "use"? Like the gstreamer codecs, or something like icedtea for example.
Thinking about using a tiling window manager instead. What do you guys suggest, having never used one before? Don't need to start learning vi/emacs shortcuts just to use a desktop. I know there's Awesome and i3 at least. [editline]e[/editline] Trying out i3. Feels iffy. I personally like the concept of terminal programs and the tiling window manager, but not if it's going to cause problems trying to navigate it.

Honestly all I knew about the gst plugins before was they were "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly"

Mostly just mod+P (search in the toolbar to open a program), mod+Enter (open a terminal), mod+V and mod+G (choose what edge to open the next tile on). I write a lot of code in vim, so tiling terminal windows is super useful for me. [editline]x[/editline] Oh yeah, you should also use workspaces as often as possible. mod+1,2,3 etc.
I tried herbsluftwm and i3 for a bit but still ended up coming back to awesome. With awesome I only need to manually reorder windows or change layouts occasionally since usually the autotiling does a good job.
