HP is fine until you go to upgrade it. My friend who is in the middle of nowhere bought this HP machine with a quad core AMD processor, 8 GB of RAM, Nvidia 9600gs and a 500 GB hard drive for gaming. He asks if I can put a modem in it, since there is no other form of internet access available. What I find is pathetic: No PCI slots.
A few weeks ago, he bought a Radeon HD 4770, asking me to install it for him. It worked fine at the desktop, though then he fired up Dragon Age: Origins. I'm guessing the power supply was way too weak for it to run since it got really laggy. When he quit it, Areo was turned off. Now he has to order a new PSU, which I'm hoping will fit...
The machine was decent, though have no expectations of upgrading it.
as long as you can pay off all the tab before the 6monthes or they will charge you out the ass, it looks fine if you don't want to do it yourself

Any pre built manufacturer sucks
I built my first computer in about an hour and a half, the hardest part was opening all the boxes and making sure I didn't lose any screws.
You will be flamed to hell if you ask about a prebuilt in here.
Even if they do HP is still the best of them all.
Out of the mainstream market, I would have to say Gateway is the best. They have pretty good cooling, and when I got mine (Hey I didn't ask for it, it was a christmas gift from my dad) the cabling was behind the mobo until I got my hands on it.
Unless you're fucking retarded there is almost no way to screw up a pc build. On top of that it's not hard to figure out where stuff goes, even without a manual.

They come with manuals? I thought almost every port and wire being labeled and color coded was enough :rolleye:

Only if it's an overpriced piece of shit pre-built. We only try to save people's money.
If someone is too lazy to build a system in the first place I doubt they will read any provided manuals with the components :v:
Also, I don't know who you are but you can quit the "son" referring, you're allowing gold membership to go to your head.
You fail to realize my whole post was a metaphor and referring to you as "son" was in no way, shape, or form meant as derogatory. Gold membership has nothing to do with me calling you son or not.
My post was a joke, as well as a simple point. There was nothing directed towards you at all.

I usually can build a computer in about half an hour if I don't have to document anything or do the cable management in a fancy way..
