:v:
My Internet speed test results are,
Download Speed: 18.89 Mbps
Upload Speed:0.795 Mbps.
I perform this test from ScanMySpeed.com
Switched to Virgin media for cheaper, faster broadband. Noticed my downloads are capped severely throughout the day under 1MBS. Paying for better speed is negligible when they do this. BT was expensive but at least it didn't mess with your downloads.

School campus Internet is pretty fast, too bad the WiFi is usually 2/2.

What do you use wifi on besides your phone?
What do you use wifi on besides your phone?
anything that I'd have to use that can only use the WiFi (so no LTE). I can't really use the Ethernet cables because they usually block access. The fast speeds are only really usable on the school computers.

What package are you on?
With Virgin, if you're on less than 30mb your Download speeds get capped but if you're on anything higher only your uploads get capped.

After a grueling two weeks without internet, I'm back on BT now and it's fine. In fact it's even better than what i had before this fiasco. I was on around 20MB with virgin media and i did happen to read that little part but it seemed to not make any difference whatever hour i was downloading. Something is seriously wrong if you were getting 75kb - 150kb per dl file and couldn't stream 720p youtube videos without it buffering. Downloading steam games however wasn't that bad (in comparison but for mentioning still terrible) so i am left kinda baffled. Cancelling was a bit weird the moment i mentioned i wanted to terminate the contract. They suddenly claimed the phone line was acting up and weren't able to hear me. Second call and they offered to 'fix' the problem by sending out a techie after the date which you can cancel. Nah i'm done with Virgin but i'm sure it's fine for a lot of people. BT guy came with his ipad and literally less than five minutes later, he was back out the door and i had my speeds back again. Virgin media kept disconnecting as well i forgot to mention.

Sound's like they really fucked you over!
Myself and my flatmate have plenty of disposable income from Student Loans so we went for the Top-Teir 152mb package and we've had no problems with it at all.
