I'm pretty sure a majority of people can memorize the numbers 0-9
sucks for them then because it's 1 to 12
I find mice like that are pointless. The most you really need if you're gaming is
Mouse 1
Mouse 2
Mouse 3
two side buttons
Sidewinders are ok but normal one is cheap quality. Roccat is awesome

It depends which games you play
Idunno, but I would go for either a Razer Deathadder or the Steelseries Ikari.
Personally i prefer Logitech, i have quite a good experience with their products (Never broken one) and they have awesome support, I suggest a Logitech MX518 or Logitech G5.
I'm currently using a sidewinder, but my favorite mouse of all time has to be the Logitech MX1000. Grabbing that thing is an experience in itself. Although it is cordless, I never had any problems with lag or anything like that, and even after years of use it still recharged fine.
yeah I'm sorry I mean it's not like it's near impossible to memorise the location of 12 identical buttons in a place you can't look at anyway because it's obscured by your thumb
The mouse comes with little grip stickers that you can place on any of the buttons to help you memorize where the buttons are. Kind of like J and F have little bumps on most keyboards. You've clearly never used one, because you wouldn't be spouting off about how terrible the button placement is.
and well it's razer so it's not likely the buttons just repeat the numpad or number row anyway
Again, it's a mouse designed with MMO's in mind, not your every day mouse.
and it's not like they positioned the buttons so badly the average person can only hit the top 6 comfortably
Define average person and yet again, you've never used one.

I've held one, I don't need to own one to know what it's like

I don't see how this changes the fact that you could just use the number row or numpad

average as in doesn't have some fucked up hand with their thumb an inch further down their hand than than normal, and yes I have
shit I'm back from my holiday, never did order a mouse yet...
Get a Logitech MX518. They last forever.
[editline]02:21AM[/editline]
Also, never buy razer, their products don't last very long before breaking/getting malfunctions.

Not true, I've had my Razer Copperhead since December 2005 and it still works like it did when I got it. I's a little scuffed from the constant use, but that's all thats wrong with it. I don't use it any more, though, I use a Deathadder V2, which still works flawlessly.

So the guy buys hardware off EBay and expects the manufacturer to uphold his warrenty, they tell him to contact the person he bought it from and he tells them(Razer) that UK retailers only offer 1 year warranty? Last I checked EBay isn't a UK retailer and just about every other hardware manufacturer has the same stance on unofficial resellers.
Read the whole thread - their attitude to the whole matter is unpleasant, even if officially their stance is justified.
Logitech, in my experience, has the best quality out of any brand. Microsoft probably has the worst. Their peripherals randomly stop working. I love my G9. I also love my Logitech trackman wheel (not good for gaming)

I had a Habu for a year and it's starting to malfunction.
Once in a blue moon, it will just stop responding, disconnect for about 5 seconds then go back to normal.
And one of the buttons below the scroll wheel sticks, but that's because I tried to take it out once. And it doesn't stick that often.
My razor is working just fine, I've had it for about a year.
logitech g500 or g9x
wat do
fuck it went for the g500 cause it's a little cheaper so I could order a new 5.1 sound system that I have wanted for years
Sidewinder x8.
G9 is overrated imo, it has features that aren't even gaming (wheel) and isn't as large as the x8.
Other than that, the Naos 5000 by Mionix looks good. Kinda flying under the radar.
features that aren't even gaming (wheel)
I don't know anyone that doesn't use it for at least one thing(jumping, m3 voice, grenades, quick switch, shifting, etc). Figures that someone recommending an x8 would say something like that :P
The MX518 is amazing and I've never had a single Razer product last more than 2 years (and still be as good as new) however the few people I know that had copperheads from '05ish are just now having them die. Only mouse they make that I've heard of consistently lasting for every consumer and not just a few.

Wat
I meant the wheel mode where it keeps spinning. That's useful for work, not gaming.

Strange, I've had a Copperhead, Lachesis and Mamba and they all work flawlessly, and have done so since taking them out of their respective boxes.
Razer is a little pricey, and their mice don't have too many bells and whistles such as macros and LEDs displaying DPI.

Since when has size been a plus? All that means is that your mouse has more plastic. Congrats
I use a Microsoft Sidewinder X8. Pretty cool mouse, and works like a charm on any surface.

Useful if you're a palm user.
Also, the Naos 5000 is actually a great mouse. Nobody knows about it though....
