Unless it literally has a Pentium 3 in it the architecture / circuit design is going to be different
That actually does sound like a total beast for a 12 year old laptop.
I have a desktop from 9 years ago with almost the same specs, and that computer could run a bunch of games like red alert 2 and return to castle wolfenstein.
Going to post pictures of the whole process on installing Windows 98.
