if it helps, it's a God of War red PSP-2000 with 6.20 Firmware on it.
I don't have any pandora battery and i don't know how to make one. i don't feel like buying one either.
is there any way to hack it right now? if so, any tutorials or anything?
Nope you can't hack your PSP with out a Pandora Battery or a lower firmware
$6.10 on DX, don't be cheap.

AFAIK you can only use halfbyte loader to load Homebrew.

Not possible with his FW.
Some later 2000's can't even pandora'd, a lot of people forget this.
You can hack them without using Pandora, but I can't remember the method I used.
It depends on what motherboard the PSP has. Latest PSP FW that is fully hackable on FAT+OLD SLIM ones and partially hackable on NEW SLIM+3000 is 5.03. Any newer is only capable of that exploit halfbyte loader AFAIK.

Yeah, it actually is. Pandora's battery works on God of War PSPs, and any version FW.
[editline]02:34PM[/editline]
I know from experience, did it to my friend's red God of War.
Unless your PSP is of the latter generation (TA-088v3) you can use a pandora battery yes. There's really no way of telling, me and my sister bought our PSP's almost at the same time, mine was Pandora hackable, hers wasn't. She runs ChickHEN.
And yeah, firmware doesn't matter as long as you have a pandora battery. I could go to official 6.20 and then use my pandora to go back to M33.

Really? Good to know then. I thought FW restricts it no matter what.

It depends on what motherboard your PSP have. TA-86, TA-88, TA-88v2, and TA-90 are vulnerable. TA-88 v3 have the IPL hashcheck implemented in the bootrom, therefore pandora battery will not work.
And blackbird, Pandora Battery uses hardware service mode. You can't block it via software update as it is part of the CPU bootrom.

Thanks for clarification. I bought my PSP from eshop and for some reason it came with 3.90 M33 so I never used Pandora battery before.
ok, i became un-cheap and bought a pandora battery from dx
hope you guys are right about the pandora battery
Hope you have checked your PSP for compatibility before buying it.
i have no way of telling what motherboard i have but i do know it's a psp-2000 so yea i know it works with it
I used the TIFF EggSploit on my PSP-2000, which had 5.02 OFW on it, I actually had to UPGRADE to 5.03 OFW and clear all settings to default with a 32MB memorystick formatted within the PSP itself before it would work. Then I could install GEN 5.50 CFW.
On a side note, I made my own pandora battery. Scared the bejesus outta me when I popped the capacitor and it started sparking.
Ok so my pandora battery from DX arrived.
is there anything else i need to do beside pop the battery in (Do i put anything on my memory stick duo or anything to make it downgrade?)

Nevermind, i used This tutorial
thanks for the help
I have a 3000 that has 6.20 on it, and I have no pandora battery... I sure hope someone exploits it soon.
You can use the half-byte loader exploit to hack your Psp... I think it's capable of slightly hacking the psp 3000 6.2. I dunno I haven't tested it yet. Link is here, read the whole thing please.

I have that, and the exploit works, but the loader won't load anything... I've tried three different SNES emulators, and it won't load them... it either loads it and returns to the loader screen, or shuts off the PSP.
Huh... weird. Maybe it doesn't support emulators yet, just homebrew apps.

Do you have the latest release?

Yep, using rev. 97. I even tried rev. 96, but same results.

What are the emulators you have tried?; If the Emulator requires the 1.50 Kernel than it won't work.

I think, please correct me if I'm wrong.

They are all besed on the Snes9x for PSP, one being the official build, and two being unofficial.
Oh, and to everyone who makes youtube videos with your PSP, here's a few tips for making a good tutorial:
1.) Don't talk like a 12 year old faggot.
2.) Cameras are sensitive to light, so turn your PSP's brightness ALL THE WAY DOWN!
3.) use a god-damn tripod, with the camera's auto-focus DISABLED!
4.) Don't cover up your MAC address like a homosexual... What am I going to do, block you from my router? Seriously... knock that gay shit off.
5.) if you're going to show steps for adding things from the PC to the memorystick, use a SCREEN RECORDING APP!
I want to hack my 3001 series, because i broke the disk-drive and now i can't play any of my games.
