Should I flash CM10 or JB Resurrection ROM on my S2?
You can always try one and switch.
Is there a more efficient flac player than Power Amp for Android 2.2?
Is the difference between a FLAC and a decent MP3 that noticeable? If I needed my music to play using less resources I'd use a lighter file format
Is the difference between a FLAC and a decent MP3 that noticeable? If I needed my music to play using less resources I'd use a lighter file format
320kbps MP3s are perfectly fine compared to FLAC. Although I don't really care much for music quality in the first place.
considering that most phones probably have crap hardware anyway, what's the point of using flacs on those
I doubt that some phones can even play FLAC8 in realtime.
considering that most phones probably have crap hardware anyway, what's the point of using flacs on those
Well, I use FLAC on a Nokia C6-01, and I definitely notice a increase on the quality (using headphones, of course). Using FLAC when you use the phone's speaker is indeed pointless, though.
Unless you're using some form of amp like a FiiO and a really good pair of headphones, I'd put any perceived improvements between an actual 320kbps MP3 and a FLAC file to confirmation bias. I doubt anyone who claims they can tell would pass an ABX test with audio coming from their phone.

i got banned from xda
i got banned from xda
Ahaha, which post did it?
How badly would leaving Bluetooth on all the time affect my Nexus 4's battery life. My car stereo has Bluetooth audio, and I was going to use that rather than have an Aux and usb cable plugged in.
Ahaha, which post did it?
that game theme thread
Just ordered a Nexus 7. It's going to be my first tablet, I can't wait! Can I ask what you guys find to be highly recommended apps and games.
What headphones?
It's a economic brand, and I think it's local. I'm pretty sure you can't find nothing about them in Google and such. They are Silver Sound headphones. They do sound nice, nonetheless. These are the worldwide equivalent. GSMArena's review of the One is mindblowing. The screen is iPhone 5-levels of brightness and contrast, with 1080p. Oh, and it actually beat or equaled the iP5 in battery tests.
The One seems pretty awesome I just don't have any reason to switch phones

That + a C6-01 will not produce any percievable difference between a 320kbps MP3(actually 320kbps, not some torrent with 128kbps files re-encoded to 320) and a FLAC file. Sense 5 makes me worried. So much UI bullshit. I mean, I probably wouldnt get the one anyway, but Sense is just not pretty at all.
Sense 5 makes me worried. So much UI bullshit. I mean, I probably wouldnt get the one anyway, but Sense is just not pretty at all.
Meh. Unless they took out the ability to completely reskin the OS with a single APK (this has been present since Sense 2.x, at least.), you just need to convince someone with enough time on their hands to use Virtuous Ten Studio to put together a skin that makes it AOSP. And yes, it touches every part of the Sense framework, which includes the notification shade/bar and every single Sense application. Or are you still trucking on with the GS3?
I just read some reports of issues with LTE reception though, that definitely has me concerned...
That's concerning indeed. I hope it won't be an issue because apart from the camera not being as good as some others in well lit conditions, it's a pretty perfect phone.

The whole "Ultra Pixel" thing is really focused on low-light photos.
That's concerning indeed. I hope it won't be an issue because apart from the camera not being as good as some others in well lit conditions, it's a pretty perfect phone.
I have a feeling that it's basically an issue with the algorithm used to determine when to drop LTE and such. Same thing on my 8X, even though I can clearly get 2 bars of LTE it will drop me back to HSPA+. The camera in well lit conditions needs a fix to the auto ISO algorithms. It's obvious based upon reviewer reports that it turns up ISO way too high and produces too much noise as a result, which then blurs out a bunch of detail when the ISP tries to get rid of the noise.
Sense 5 makes me worried. So much UI bullshit. I mean, I probably wouldnt get the one anyway, but Sense is just not pretty at all.
Really? Sense 5 actually looks quite nice, especially compared to previous versions.
Really? Sense 5 actually looks quite nice, especially compared to previous versions.
IDK. I've seen some of the way you interact with it and it just feels really invasive. Like the double tapping/long pressing you have to do. Almost as big a sin as the hovering in the next touchwiz.
So it looks like the upgraded AVRCP bluetooth profile is going to take longer than I thought to be fixed in Cyanogenmod. Google, in their brilliance, went through all the trouble of switching bluetooth stacks to another bluetooth stack that doesn't support AVRCP 1.3+ when they could have just upgraded bluez. I'm thinking about downgrading my Galaxy Nexus to CM10, though I'd miss DashClock.

[editline]23rd March 2013[/editline] Just look at the people app/dialer, it's very Holo-like in function. Skin-wise, not really, but that's just a question of preference.
