The former launched on the Galaxy Nexus which made the iPhone 3GS look like a buttery smooth powerhouse in comparison, while 4.2(.2) has all the enhancements Google has made with project butter being the most important as it makes devices run much better for the hardware they have as long as they have lots of RAM to throw into hardware acceleration. Basically, one runs a lot smoother than the other.
Don't forget the features. Camera firmware, Google Now, gesture typing, etc.

I could probably list them out. But if people do want to see the big changes they can look at the Wikipedia page for Android's version history. Very useful for me when I can't remember when something was added to the OS.
oh look a new thread
I don't know if this is a common issue, but the filesystem on my Nexus 7 does not appear to be 'in sync' with what Windows sees on its internal storage when I have it connected to my computer?
For example, I make a folder "images" on my Nexus 7 with Astro Filemanager, and move file a.jpg from the folder downloads to images. When I connect it to my desktop and look in the internal storage (the Nexus 7 is recognized as a mobile mediaplayer by Windows 7), I do not see the folder images and file a.jpg is still in the folder downloads, but if I try to manipulate it it just gives an error.
How do I set a custom launcher as default? I'm not getting a popup since I reset it back to the stock launcher.
Go to settings, apps, all, then look for "Launcher" or what ever your launcher is called on your ROM, go into that and press "Clear defaults".

Trouble is the only button in the Launcher app setting is "Stop", there is no "Clear Default".
holy fucking shit it's a miracle

I've been looking through the Play store books and I've noticed that there aren't any comics or mangas. How does one go about getting these?
I know shit about screens, as long as they are in color, they're good enough for me, but then I noticed the burn when I watched netflix.
The Galaxy Nexus has burn-in issues because of the nature of the screen it uses (OLED), it's a common issue for that technology. The Nexus 4 uses an IPS LCD and doesn't suffer from burn-in

It's not Burn-in on the Nexus 7. It's ghosting. Completely different and not permanent.

My iPad gets ghosting when I'm out in -10 degree temperatures for a long time, but never during normal use.

Most modern LCDs shouldn't have ghosting issues at normal operating temperature. Makes me wonder if he has been watching Netflix outside in the cold.

Yeah, ghosting only really happens on cheap LCD panels nowadays
Yeah, ghosting only really happens on cheap LCD panels nowadays
That's not exactly true. Occasionally the highest of high end panels, ones in the Macbook Pro with Retina Display, had ghosting issues initially just due to difficulties with manufacturing. I would think since higher end panels like IPS ones tend to have higher response times, the probability of ghosting would increase.

Obscure question, but does anybody know if CM10.1 fixes the bluetooth bug with Nexus 4 4.2.2? I have to restart my phone every day if I want my pebble to connect to it.
Shit. I missed the free unity android license a while back and now I really wish I hadn't. I've got a project I want to work on that I need it for unless anyone knows a suitable replacement for free.
Well, it seems like libgdx is pretty good. Ingress is made with it. Although you do have to pay if you want to port to iOS.

How the heck do they expect people to find that? Even though your link sends me there I don't see how to get to there without it.
My Galaxy Nexus got a kind of big ding on the top side and the glass on the left side of the face speaker is a little chipped, I'm so sad right now.
My poor baby has an imperfection.
The chipped glass stands out on the face now, the best looking part of the phone, IT WAS THE ONE TIME I DIDN'T HAVE MY CASE ON MY PHONE :suicide:
I just can't stand it I'm losing my mind! I've only had 4.2.2 for a couple days, I can't believe they removed the camera effects, one of the flagship features.

Thanks for the advice. I ended up using Home Manager and that worked.

Disregard hair, acquire Nexus.

I never used it and accidentally deleted it when clearing my downloads folder.
I was going to use it the next day. :(
Back to learning Quake C.
