what probably happened was he looked at the package, misread the apartment number and buzzed in to that apartment, after entering realized he used the wrong number and left it on your door.

I wasn't sure.
And before I away to bed, I'll just leave this possible facebook phone announcement here.
Bumping my question, nobody responded last time and I really want to get this fixed :<
I don't know if this is a common issue, but the filesystem on my Nexus 7 does not appear to be 'in sync' with what Windows sees on its internal storage when I have it connected to my computer?
For example, I make a folder "images" on my Nexus 7 with Astro Filemanager, and move file a.jpg from the folder downloads to images. When I connect it to my desktop and look in the internal storage (the Nexus 7 is recognized as a mobile mediaplayer by Windows 7), I do not see the folder images and file a.jpg is still in the folder downloads, but if I try to manipulate it it just gives an error.
What's the best phone to get at the moment? Don't want the S2 anymore.
Can't decide between Nexus 4, Samsung S4 or the HTC One.
HTC One.

This is the kind of thing that gets to me.
I didn't know there was a hardware company called "Android".

This is also the "average" consumer.
As power users and/or android enthusiasts, we forget that sometimes.
this reminds me of people calling Valve "steam"

Depends. If you value microSD, removable battery, AMOLED contrast, high detail camera, and Touchwiz, get the GS4. If you value better reception, better battery life, the best LCD in the industry, aluminum build, Sense 5, and near Apple levels of attention to detail, get the One. If you care about AOSP and updates, get the Nexus 4.
Honestly speaking, the HTC One is basically the Android iPhone in the sense that there's a lot of attention to detail, but there's also design compromises. The unibody is made so that there's an incredibly thin edge with a wide curve on the back for ergonomics, which is only possible because of the pyramidal internal layout of the components. Sense 5 is miles better than before, without skeuomorphic, shiny gradients all over the place. The camera's low light and macro performance is the best of all Android phones out there, but it comes at the cost of landscape/long distance shots having less detail. There's also no microSD and you will never be able to replace the battery because of how hard it is to take it out of the incredibly packed frame.
The GS4 is hardly bad either. They made some huge strides in display as they finally included a calibration mode that has proper sRGB gamut with D6500 white point, the 13MP camera didn't regress from 8MP, and they kept everything that people liked about the GS3. Even though the design is pretty much the same, it's far from a bad choice, it's just harder to go on and on about it.
The Nexus 4 is a Nexus in every sense of the term. Camera is traditionally meh, display is good but calibration is piss-poor. Battery life is not the greatest and in general if it were the same price as the One and S4 it would be horrible. But it's half the price, and that's a huge difference. AOSP is pretty big to some people too, and there's really nothing quite like getting the latest Android update within days of its announcement.

Nothing you can do. MTP is a shitty system.
Seems my current recovery image doesn't want to load anymore
What do you suggest I flash this time, I've been using whatever one Erkel flashed onto it
I hate to be a bother and I probably sound like a complete idiot with all these questions, but what do Pins do? In the Play Books app and some other apps they have pins, some are greyed out, some are blue, some are pointing left, some are pointing down. When I press it nothing really seems to happen except that they toggle between one state to another.
Saves the file for offline usage AFAIK.
S2 owners. What ROMs are you currently running?
Currently on CM9. I should really flash CM10.1 or something but haven't gotten around to it (lazy).
Guys, advice needed!
I decided to look at my contract, and it turns out I can already prolong it tomorrow.
I'm with T-Mobile in the Netherlands. I'm almost definitely going for the HTC One, which they said is already available in my country.
I could choose to get a one year or a two year contract. Two years is obviously cheaper, but that'll be 28 months with the HTC One (current one ends in 4 months).
It's really hard to determine whether I'll be craving for a new phone in two years or in one year already. I've done two years with my Optimus 3D, I really want a new one, but that thing is objectively shit.
LTE is also a guess, currently, only the biggest cities have LTE.
Also, the black HTC One looks more badass than the white one.

basically
the blue circle with a left pin means google play downloaded it when you bought it, but android will delete if space is needed.
down pin means keep no matter what
gray circle means it'll stream

LTE is just not worth the cost currently, and I don't see it changing much for the next two years. I never ever get 'subsidized' phones myself, and never a contract for more than a year. If you absolutely have to get an on contract phone I'd go for one year and hope LTE is cheaper and more widespread next year. In any case, contracts are bound to be comparably cheaper next year, so it might cost you more in the long run if you choose the two year contract.

Why are you being charged more for LTE over UMTS?
Why are you being charged more for LTE over UMTS?
They want to earn back the cost of purchasing the frequency range they'll be using for LTE and the cost of rolling out LTE, as soon as possible I guess.

Left to right:
250mb/month 2Mb/s EDGE/3G/H+
1000mb/month 14.4Mb/s EDGE/3G/H+
2500mb/month 25Mb/s EDGE/3G/H+/LTE
5000mb/month 50Mb/s EDGE/3G/H+/LTE
Wow that's LTE Cat 2 if you're stuck at 50Mbps theoretical. I get that last tier but at 100/150Mbps depending on what hardware you have, for $35 dollars.
Yeah fuck that. There's no reason to charge like that when you don't even have Cat 3 speeds, especially when some carrier that covers Canada does have them and charges less.

Those are all artificial caps mind you.
Those are all artificial caps mind you.
Yeah I'd imagine, but they don't even seem to offer anything above what Cat 2 speeds are judging from that little picture.
So the HTC One got a repair score of 1, aka you're not repairing anything on this thing.

Saves them investing in more towers I imagine.

Well I'm sorry you guys have to deal with that. I don't really know the situation in the Netherlands but I hope if there is room for competition that drops prices, that it shows up shortly.

We have three main service providers which each have like five daughters so yeah, not likely. The whole market is controlled by three providers basically.
guys
GUYS
what's the default LED behavior and color when charging on the Nexus 4? I'm running CM10.1 already and I forgot to check on stock
Also, in case anyone of you is using the default pre-set sounds for SMS and GMail, mind sharing what they are?

I have a digital clock on my night stand that doubles as a disco light. Brightest dark blue color I've ever seen in my entire life, and I sleep okay :v:
Most off topic page king 2013?
I should buy Tasker and play around with it this long weekend.
