God I love Market Helper, I can now try out so many more games that technically can play those games (Glu mobile games), it's just the devs decided to ditch the resolution. Just downloaded Contract Killer 2, hope it works.
Contract Killer 2 WORKS! Well for like 10 seconds and then crashes...But when it did load, the game was so smooth, it was like Contract Killer with better graphics and stuff.
How's CM10 in comparison?
CM10 is the fastest ROM I have ever used. Hopefully it is stable on your phone
I can't find any CM10 downloads for S2.
Also, I don't know how I managed to do this but on my screen it shows a faint image of my keyboard inside the chat app I regularly use (KIK messenger) on anything I go to. I can even see my gf's name faintly displayed on the top left corner. Slightly annoying, I don't know how to fix it. Switching ROMs made no difference.

Could it be OLED burn in? Did you leave your keyboard open for like 3 days with the screen on max brightness?
I love how people keep citing the GSMArena review in any question of the S4 vs the One when it's just littered with shit information. Apparently "low light" is when the sun is still visible on the horizon and outdoors, no one uses anything but WiFi for web browsing, and it's A-OK to just assume that a phone has 25 mA standby drain instead of actually checking for rogue apps.
GSMArena's reviews seem legit but they're just unbelievably bullshit if you know what they're talking about. The best part is that /r/android is basically fanboy wars now, so even if you're capable of separating what you buy from what you consider to be good/bad about something, you're grouped as either a Samsung or HTC fanboy.

Yeah, I need to stop reading /r/android. It raises my blood pressure.

No. Never left my keyboard on or that app open for that long. I sometimes have my screen on max brightness though and I use the app that is faintly seen about 85% of the time.
I love looking at this app, always has the most uplifting reviews.
I assume you can still send it off to get repaired though? Cuz it has been cheaper to fix my phone with samsung than myself so far
Not so sure about that. Under warranty they would probably just replace it, but if you break something on your own, I'm not sure if it'll be fixable for the service center at all.

Screw all the reviews, that's what I told myself two years ago. Every review has its problems even if it's a small time reviewer. If you like it and it's not priced ridiculously high then you should get it despite whatever the reviews give and whether you can live with the faults. My 2 cents on reviews.

HTC covers repairs for free during warranty. Make sure that if you do send it in that there is no sign of unlock/relock (you can be either SHIP S-ON or SHIP S-OFF, they don't use that to determine warranty because they accidentally let some phones out of the factory S-OFF) or else they will charge you for motherboard replacement, which is retarded expensive.

Meh, I look at reviews holistically. If I see a common thread, I know it's a problem. If you really want a solid review though, Anandtech is as good as it gets. It nails just about everything I'm looking for and then some.
[editline]30th March 2013[/editline]
Common threads I've seen in the HTC One: Camera is not made for fine detail from long range, color balance needs a bit of tuning in some scenarios. Small battery means that even if HTC made it as efficient as possible, rogue apps will affect it much worse than something like a GS4. Autobrightness is too high, need custom ROM or an app like lux to fix it.

Find an app called vortex, it has the best reviews.
Put it on the box and give it about 10 minutes
Had it on the box in front of me for like 20 minutes, nothing.
However God help you if it starts vibrating, it's like a turtle trying to run to safety.
So many contracts, a contract refresh on T mobile for one year is 822 euros in total (with subsidised phone) . The same contract for two years is 952 in total. That's 130 euro for a full year of extra subscription.
it has 14 Mbps max, 75 call minutes and infinite text messages. I barely ever call btw, more minutes is a lot more expensive. The other providers don't seem to really have good deals.
it's really difficult to find a good contract. SIM only contracts seem to be way more expensive if you include the HTC one.

The only complaint that can possibly be made about Anandtech mobile reviews is their benchmark choices being browser based.
Damn you AT&T giving me 4.0.4 instead of Jelly Bean!

Motherfucking shit. I never thought that the back cover from the factory would stop it from sliding SO MUCH.
I took it off and I think I'll have to hire a babysitter for this thing.
A Reddit user created a functional Google Now themed music player. It's only a beta but works stable enough for normal use. I've been using it for a few minutes and I love it!

It looks like forked Apollo music player.
And lacks folder playback :/ the dev of Apollo said that would come in an update, but then he got into licensing issues and he's promising a re-release for months now.

Turns out I get faster speeds on 4G on my phone than with my home network. 44mpbs down on 4G and 26mbps on home network.
Can't wait until fiber arrives.
While I'm at it; Anyone getting some awful crashes with Chrome on android with swiftkey installed?

Once that LTE gets saturated with users you'll start seeing speeds around 15-25Mbps(and 20-40Mbps on Cat 4 equipment), but that's still within the range of your home internet.

I actually tested it during the day yesterday and got 38mbps and that was in the city with a huge amount of people nearby.

That really doesn't demonstrate whether or not the network is saturated. I'm just saying when towers hit their peak of users that they'll support within their design, that's where the speeds drop to. On 1700MHz LTE category 3 I got 25Mbps on Thursday, but I don't know which tower I was using and how many other people were, and if they were on UMTS or LTE.

Yeah that's an issue but there's really no choice, the state of mobile benchmarking is basically piss-poor.

I get about 15mbps at school, in SF, using LTE when I'm walking down the street of my house I can get 50mbps.

If you're at school, you're on a loaded network.
Schools basically need microcells in every building because of how insane the bandwidth needs are.
