If you're wondering what's happening to my GTS250 every time i go into a game it just turns into an artifacting mess and i have to hard reset the PC
I've tried it in several PCs, cleaned the dust out, replaced thermal paste and reinstalled the drivers yet it makes no difference.

I'll either have to find a new card, find my dead HD5750 and try fix that or try and fix my GTS250.

Yeah that would be a bit unreasonable.
Got 60MB/s sustained and 85-100MB/s burst speed copying my crap from my old hard drive, not too bad.
The 5750 is actually dead dead this time
When the drivers aren't installed it's fine
but when you install drivers all hell breaks loose and it either BSODs on startup or turns into artifacting mess.

I'm not really sure. Google says over $300 but that seems pretty steep to me. What does $150 shipped sound like to you? Alternatively $170 shipped with the Hyper 212+

The 5750 is about as good as a 4850, which is about as good as a GTS 250, if my mind isn't playing tricks, so it probably isn't going to be a huge issue.
I'm going to try and flash the BIOS on the GPU and see if that does anything
