Don't these graphs usually turn out to be bullshit? Especially since they're coming from NVIDIA I'll be very sceptical until we get some real third party benchmarks with actual performance.

and another one... im totally happy with my 8800gt, and i wont buy anything new until i drop under 20fps in new games or tesselation or some other beautiful technique gets implemented in all new games.
These charts kinda remind me of the dell charts.
Sounds overpriced
Atleast the ATI card had a more stable and predictable performance on the tessellation performance chart :smug: And in all seriousness, that Tessellation software that they have is probably specifically made to run on the GF100, so of course anything that isn't will run like shit (like trying to run PhysX on an ATI card). Also I think these charts should start posting some FPS, not putting a card at "1" and comparing the GF100 to it based on that [editline]11:39AM[/editline] And if the GF100 (or whatever the fuck they will call it) is the price of a few 5850s or 5870s, then why bother getting it? It's the most bang for the buck that counts (Atleast for me)
These charts kinda remind me of the dell charts.
that rendering just wouldn't be possible without this technological breakthrough.
I think Fermi sounds cool. Like an exotic sports car (Fermi is Italian).
salad series sounds cooler though
This could turn out like when the ATI HD's started, man I remember the stick I got just because I went with a HD2900. Everyone was Nvidia fan boys then because Nvidia had DX10 first, just like how everyone is an ATI fanboy because of DX11. Obviously I'm excluding the reasons before those updates on both sides.
I have my battle plan in order. I have my three monitors on the way and will wait until the Fermi launch to get a new GPU. If the Nvidia 'offering' is worth it, I will get it (well two for "surround" gaming) or I will get a HD5970 which should hopefully drop in price. Either way, by the time March comes around I should have enough to choose from either one.

It's never a good idea to buy the best card available, when the first games come out that would lag on a highend (but not highest end) card you could probably buy a second one of the cheaper one you bought earlier for the money you saved when you didn't buy that "awwweesome" 500€ card and get better performance than one high end card.
Nvidia benchmarks usually suck
I don't ever trust benches that show their competitor. Too easy to fake to make yourself look better.
Well, alot of the nVidia demos they tested it with ARE made with nVidia cards in mind.
not like that'll stop fanfaggots turning this thread into another shitstorm of idiocy
The idiocy will never end.
These charts kinda remind me of the dell charts.
dude the cases really add another 30 frames per second we swear [editline]11:03AM[/editline]
Well, alot of the nVidia demos they tested it with ARE made with nVidia cards in mind.
the unigine demo is ati based, did you not read the thread?
These look kinda fishy.
Yes it does. It looks very sketchy. The power being shown is more than double on all graphics. Just doesn't seem right.
the unigine demo is ati based, did you not read the thread?
Okay, so what about the hair and water demos?
salad series sounds cooler though
Salad also goes with the colour scheme. I also want to see the figures that show the power consumption and the heat generated, which could be interesting.
2x better at Dx11 eh? I bet it runs 2x hotter too.
Okay, so what about the hair and water demos?
Have we seen them on 5870 / 5970? [editline]05:00PM[/editline]
the unigine demo is ati based, did you not read the thread?
It's directx 11 based.
Salad also goes with the colour scheme. I also want to see the figures that show the power consumption and the heat generated, which could be interesting.
Yeah asking for the heat is gonna anger tons of the nvidia fanboys because they all know how hot Nvidia makes their cards run, my 9800 runs 2x hotter than my friends 5970.
Yeah asking for the heat is gonna anger tons of the nvidia fanboys because they all know how hot Nvidia makes their cards run, my 9800 runs 2x hotter than my friends 5970.
ugh what shut up

The HD4xxx series was extremely hot when they first came out, but it still didn't stop them being a great hit.
Normally I'd agree but it just sounds like your cooling setup is shit, and his is good.
Nope, Ive got better cooling than he does.
of course you do
of course you do
But I most certainly do.
oh i'm sure you do
