nvidia should stop concentrating on desktops and start concentrating on Tegra. I'm an AMD guy, but I love me some Tegra.
Would you as a big company, give up on a market you've been dominating for years?
Would you as a big company, give up on a market you've been dominating for years?
no, but as it stands now, ATI's got them market in a headlock. how do you get out of one of those? before "ATI FAGGAH" i'm gettimg my second GTX 260 for SLI soon... [editline]01:34AM[/editline]
Nvidia's getting pretty shit with all the rebrands and the paying of companies to make games faster for them. Their cards are faster at times, but I buy from ATI simply because their business practices are cleaner. Nvidia definitely has some good cards and ideas, but they're dirtier than a truck stop. They need to either clean up or shift their focus.
this.
I think, Maybe AMD isn't trying new ideas... Maybe they are taking existing ideas and making them available to a majority of the market? Tripplehead to go, wasn't that like $250? AMD took the idea, Or principals then made them available to us guys? Maybe? I'm not to sure anymore.
how do you get out of one of those?
you wait and try to win the next round every set of cards has to have a winner and a loser, at the moment ATi is set to win but who knows what the future holds
For now nvidia is only losing gamer market. They still dominate workstations and prebuilts.
These cards pretty much double as low budget workstation cards which is awesome.
These cards pretty much double as low budget workstation cards which is awesome.
They'll keep you warm in the winter months as well.
you wait and try to win the next round every set of cards has to have a winner and a loser, at the moment ATi is set to win but who knows what the future holds
yeah, and i hope it succeeds. i'm way to addicted to the Nvidia brand to swap painlessly. i would, but it'd hurt badly.

that is really cool
They are not trying physx, they are fucking enforcing it. So you have ati as main gpu and nvidia for physx? Well fuck you, we won't officially allow you to use it anymore.
...? i'm confused. they're not enforcing physx, if a developer wants it in their game, they have it in their game. in most physx games, physx hardware use is optional. so, it's really a stupid thing to bitch about. and really it's their software and their hardware, ATi is their direct competitor, if you seriously expected them to say "yeah sure we'll work with our sworn enemies just for you" then something is up with your thought process. [editline]11:47PM[/editline]
For now nvidia is only losing gamer market. it's beautiful to just watch general consensus shift. a few years ago ATI was a mockery, and nVidia was the only choice (even though even back then their practices were dirty. nvidia have always been pretty shifty) but now that ATI has good cards, everyone suddenly loves them and blams on nvidia for something they've ALWAYS been
I'd go nvidia, but I'd like to try an SLi/Crossfire system and with my 750 Watt PSU ATi is pretty much the only way to go.

The 8000 line before the 8800GT was way too expensive, and everything after 8800GT was practically a die shrink/minor change/over priced/rename. The 8800GT was and is amazing, incredible performance for a low price, it's a shame the rest of Nvidia's repertoire doesn't really match up.
I remember when the 8800GTS 320 was like 600€ [editline]01:56PM[/editline] and Ultra was 1000€

Heck, wasn't 8800GT so awesome it's still relevant?
I still use a 8800GT
I still use a 8800GT
and i used an x1950xtx until 2008
I still use a 8800GT
card bros
ATi is their direct competitor, if you seriously expected them to say "yeah sure we'll work with our sworn enemies just for you" then something is up with your thought process.
ATi uses openCL, which does work on nvidia's cards. So yeah.
I don't know if it's posted, but Nvidia has posted a new blog entry about the concerns and so on. http://blogs.nvidia.com/ntersect/2010/03/gtx-480-a-passion-for-the-future-of-pc-gaming.html
I still love these things, you can cook your eggs and bacon on them while gaming :3:
Aha oh wow. So they're basically saying "You can't make a graphics card this fast without it being this hot and consuming less than 400 Watts! It's impossible! Isn't the 5870 only slightly slower? It takes about half the power.
the 5970 is cooler, faster, quieter and less power hungry than a 480, regardless of how many gpus it is
ATi uses openCL, which does work on nvidia's cards. So yeah.
that's not really the same thing at all, opencl is used more than just by ATi.

it'd need to exceed boiling point in order to cook an egg, the card does not.
He should've tried FurMark instead. God-damn PelPix123 ninja'd. >:C
