A fucking netbook GPU can do 1080p HD videos. It doesn't matter how fast it can fold proteins. What matters is that it can play games and a 5870 gets much better framerates in games than a 9800GT.

No way you will last longer than 5 years, my 5870 already struggles with Metro 2033. I can barely run it maxed out with 25-35FPS. A GTX480 won't last much longer.
In ten years we could already have DX14 and 16 core processors.

they didn't really ignore them. there still might be GTX 300 cards, after all, these are only the GT 300 cards and not the GTX 300 cards
