back.. canceled my flight :saddowns: anyway, it's pretty much stuck around 60C with 70 percent fan speed with 2 LCDs, main is 1920x1080, second is 1680x1050. I do recall legitreviews saying dual LCDs make the card hot. Nothing to worry about until it becomes a problem.. anyone like what it says? lol
60C at idle? Well that's lower than my current GPU, that's for sure. What about the temps under load?
I'm about to test. @rampage It feels quieter than two 275s @ 70, thats for sure. It's not that loud.. 100 percent is definately louder than one 275 @ 100, (so same goes for all of the 200 series) It's not unbearable.
I request banchmarks, please. [editline]12:21PM[/editline] oh! cook a poptart on it when playing crysis or something.
lol In Just Cause 2 it runs about 73c. Although triple buffering is enabled, so it switches between 30 and 60 FPS constantly [editline]07:42PM[/editline] 86C with Bad Company 2. All high, HBAO, you name it 1920x1080, 32x AA. ~45 FPS. [editline]08:32PM[/editline] oh and here is one of the demos that came with it. I got like 2 FPS with my 275s... around 20+ with my 470. (but it's a fermi demo (?), so no shit) uhh
it's all grainy and shit like that because it probably couldn't finish rendering
I request banchmarks, please. [editline]12:21PM[/editline] oh! cook a poptart on it when playing crysis or something.
Benchmarks will be on the main review sites today or tomorrow, might be best to wait for those.
it's all grainy and shit like that because it probably couldn't finish rendering
:saddowns: maybe i should reinstall it, it does it when I enable "photorealism" option [editline]02:06PM[/editline]
Benchmarks will be on the main review sites today or tomorrow, might be best to wait for those.
what they've been out for weeks
:saddowns: maybe i should reinstall it, it does it when I enable "photorealism" option
Raytracing takes time. Tho it should become less and less grainy after a while
the demo videos showed it was all clear and nice, and still got like 10+ FPS oh well
:saddowns: maybe i should reinstall it, it does it when I enable "photorealism" option
yeah that's because it's rendering. rendering in most rendering applications is like this. just let it do it's shit. go piss in your mouth or something and come back and it should be ready for a screen shot. [editline]12:24PM[/editline]
the demo videos showed it was all clear and nice, and still got like 10+ FPS oh well
maybe you don't actually have CUDA enabled? iirc you have to go into the control panel and enable CUDA and PhysX.
@ M_B i don't see an option for that :saddowns: -snip- dumb idea....
weird i really thought there was an option for it. ok, well, physx, is physx enabled? it's considerably the same thing, so, maybe.
yep all enabled, still nothing :saddowns: I THINK the ASUS Smartdoctor tool actually changes my card's voltages. I can't really tell, it hasn't allowed me to OC further.. or has it.... here is where I am, with a very loud and high fan speed of 88 percent I'll turn down the fan later i guess
You know, I was unsure if to get a 5870 or a GTX480 at first, but thanks to your posts I have made up my mind. I'll get a 480.
Good luck finding one, all the ones ive seen are either Sold-out or in pre-order mode. (Fuck i wanted that XLR8 470)
Good luck finding one, all the ones ive seen are either Sold-out or in pre-order mode. (Fuck i wanted that XLR8 470)
Luckily there is a store 50km from where I live that somehow manages to have everything like a month before the rest of the country, they already have six 480 in store, even though all other stores get it at least in 30 days, if not much more (was the same for Samsungs LED PC screens, they had it 3 months before anyone else). Hoping that those 6 haven't been all sold over the weekend. [editline]10:37AM[/editline] Fuck, turns out they sold like hot bread and are out of stock there too now.
And looks like you are getting a 5870 after all!
It wouldn't really be a problem, because, you know, they are great too and I buy a graphics card not based on the manufacturer. Still, turns out another website has three of them (480s) left.
But it's your money.
How has that quote anything to do with it being Nvidia or ATI? Anyway I'm not really shelling out the extra 60€ because of fanboys being obnoxious, but because I ended up having 80€ to spare, so why not put them on the GPU.
Go GTX, imo. I prefer nVidia over any other cards, i find they are so much more reliable. :) -Murderface.
