I'm fairly certain you could run one of them on a 500W PSU with a relatively high amount of amps/efficiency.
the minimum PSU requirement they give for just about every bit of hardware is usually for under extreme conditions and to account for everything else, you might have an old puttering single core, or you might have a 6 core. you might have one stick of DDR RAM, or you might have 6 sticks of DDR3. so on and so forth
Alright, go my GTX480 and used it for a few hours: It's not that loud, not at all. I have a HAF932 and I can't hear it over the fans on idle, when in a game it's audible, but nothing irritating (it's also true that I use headphones, but even without them it's not bad at all). Maybe I'm used to loud graphic cards. I haven't been able to check the heat (Speccy doesn't recognize it and my internet was down yesterday, so I couldn't download another program) though (and as they said, they made them to tolerate higher temperatures).
overclocked it yet? overclock the fuck out of it [editline]09:03AM[/editline] ps welcome to the club :awesome: :respek:
overclocked it yet? overclock the fuck out of it
Nope, will do today or tomorrow (I'll try out some games on stock first, just to see how they run and how much performance increase I get).
[editline]09:03AM[/editline] ps welcome to the club :awesome: :respek:
Yeah now when someone at school tells me "Hah, I made a new record on Robot Unicorn Attack" I'll be all like "Yeah, I made a new record on Supersonic Sled, how about you? :smug:" (then they'll download it and try to run it on an Intel integrated).
that demo is very fun
that demo is very fun
Yeah, it's pretty fun. My current record is around 16-17, can't remember the exact number.
:saddowns: i only managed 19. I think i got 15 one time, but I was going so fast i flew off the thing at the end
have you tried the design garage? [editline]12:25AM[/editline] couldnt be arsed to finish it
:aaa:
oh goody how did you get it to work?
oh goody how did you get it to work?
By having a fermi card.
had to wait longer :downs: [editline]06:25AM[/editline] woah
By having a fermi card.
no shit, smart ass before he couldn't figure out why it looked all fuzzy and shit. i said it was either that there was some option he missed or that he just had to let it go longer but you knew that, right?
actually you can run it on your GTX 200 card, but ye
Whoever made that bench or whatever it is had a really bad choice of HDRi, it's so dark.
This makes my 8600 how out of date?
VERY. It was outdated even when 8 series came
I'd buy this if only for the CUDA. Does AMD have anything equal to that?
yes, Stream, not sure what uses it, but it's sort of the same
VERY. It was outdated even when 8 series came
Still works like a charm
http://vr-zone.com/articles/nvidia-geforce-gtx-465-launch--computex-2010/9028.html [editline]12:37PM[/editline] they're releasing some junk
:saddowns: i only managed 19. I think i got 15 one time, but I was going so fast i flew off the thing at the end
Correction, it was 17.6. Also I noticed that my game slows down (like slow motion, not low fps) right after the bridge (even though the fps remain above 30), but the timer keeps going like normal, which adds a few seconds to the total time. I don't know how to fix that, 90% it does it and 10% not, that 17.6 was one of those 10%. Also try using booster 1, 2 and 3 at the start, then 4 as soon as they shut down and then just max power until you have to brake (let go of the throttle and activate the R-thruster, don't brake while going at max speed or else...).
Still works like a charm
My voodoo works like a charm too, runs dos just fine
This makes my 8600 how out of date?
Just as out of date as mine :3:
Alright, now that I have my internet back I have been able to check the temps (remember, I have not touched anything, fanspeed is default). It idles at around 50C, sometimes as low as 40c (like right now, though it might be due to the higher fanspeed from playing AoC). While in AoC maxed out in dx9 (dx10 is buggy in that game) at 1920x1080 it reaches 70C, maybe 80C. All in all, it might be my case (HAF932), but it doesn't seem hot at all (and I don't care about what it gets in furmark, furmark isn't a game so I only really care about the temps it gets in the games I play). I'll try with BC2 later. [editline]01:02PM[/editline] Actually, I didn't really bump this thread only to post the temps I'm getting, I was going to ask something but I forgot while writing the post.
BC2 runs great on fermi, turn on that 32x AA!
BC2 runs great on fermi, turn on that 32x AA!
Yeah I tried that, and the FPS did not drop at all. Also it idles at 43C, how the hell did all the reviewers get 65C at idle?
Yeah I tried that, and the FPS did not drop at all. Also it idles at 43C, how the hell did all the reviewers get 65C at idle?
Depends on case. Some have more fans, some less.
fans are on auto too,
