I know what to spend my money on now... two GTX480, a new heatsink for my i7-920, some silly RAM coolers because it'd look cool, and a new case, which would be a Lian Li Armoursuit PC-P50R. God damn such a sexy waste of money.
That case, i'm in love :swoon:
oh so am I, and have been for a long time now, just waiting for the right time to buy new shit for my PC, which shall be soon.
Where the hell do you get the money for this shit? Didn't you have GTX 295 SLI?
I dunno, maybe he has a job?
I dunno, maybe he has a job?
You know, sometimes people get jobs for things other than computer parts.
You know, sometimes people get jobs for things other than computer parts.
People get jobs to receive money actually.
its his money, not yours, I think he can spend it on what he wants.
People get jobs to receive money actually.
The point is that someone making ~$200 a month (considering he is 16, I doubt he makes much more), with expenditures other than computer parts, would be extremely hard pressed to find the money for what this guy buys.
didn't hear that part. [editline]11:23PM[/editline]
The point is that someone making ~$200 a month (considering he is 16,
he's 15 actually, according to his Xfire profile: http://www.xfire.com/profile/psygo123/
The point is that someone making ~$200 a month (considering he is 16, I doubt he makes much more), with expenditures other than computer parts, would be extremely hard pressed to find the money for what this guy buys.
making $200 a month even at 16 is hilarious [editline]10:32PM[/editline] let's say you're in california, minimum wage is $8.00 part-time if you're in high school is about 10 hours a week if not more $8 x 10 hours = $80 per week -> about $320 per month at the minimum after taxes and whatever other deductions there might be, $270-290 [editline]10:33PM[/editline] and at 16 what the fuck other expenditures should there be? you've said this before i get it you pay for your own tv and shit because your parents suck, but no normal 16 year old has to pay for everything [editline]10:34PM[/editline] at least i think it was you that said you have to pay for your own cable and food or whatever
Average job for a teenager + living at home (like one should at 15) + saving money = More than enough money for computers. I mean a top of the line PC is what, 2000$? It's not much at all, if you have a job, work 10 hours a week and live at home (say you make 12$ or 14$ an hour) you only need to save money for 4 months to be able to afford atop of the line PC gaming rig.
I have no job, it's insurance and this confirmation crap... I'm getting a bunch of money from my parents, and I dunno, I might just save it. And I also only have one 295, not two. Oh wait... I only have a 750 watt corsair PSU, no 480x2 for me. And yes indeed I am only 15, I must've pressed the wrong one when I signed up for facepunch.
whoa whoa... you have a 295? why upgrade for another 2 years? if you're that rich, might i be the first to ask if i can have the leftovers?
like I said, I might scrap the new GPU and just buy new case, heatsink, and the cool looking ram coolers.
The only gain you're getting when going from a 295 to Fermi is about 2-3 fps and Tessellation.
And dx11?
And dx11?
whiiiich was the feature I was looking for mostly.
whoa whoa... you have a 295? why upgrade for another 2 years? if you're that rich, might i be the first to ask if i can have the leftovers?
well the 295 does not do directx 11 does it

Of course you are obviously trying to use that article to say that Nvidia is the anti-Christ, but I really do not see a problem with Nvidia giving out hardware for testing drivers, helping out and posting news about Nvidia stuff on blogs/profiles/stuff (which I'm guessing is what they mean by "Giving Updates") and such. It's not like they'll give you hardware for shitting up AMD forums with "lololo ati sucks nvidaea is bettar!!1", I think they know that stuff like that is counter-productive.

So yeah, it's bad.
The whole idea is to get mulitple 'long time posters' to place nvidia ads on forums, without disclosing they are paid for it. So yeah, it's bad.
I doubt Nvidia wants them to post ads (as an ad is quickly ignored), I think they want people to post informative threads (for example a big, informative thread/post about the GTX400-series). I for one lose interest in a thread if it's obvious PR, if it's an informative thread on the other hand the opposite happens (and if I know this I think Nvidia public relations department knows it too). They are looking for well-established members (they'd be after respected users and mods on FP for example), and they are doing it because people know them and trust them to be unbiased (to difference of a PR agent payed by Nvidia), if they had them post ads, that credibility would crumble making this whole operation useless. Of course I am not Nvidia so I am just guessing, if, instead, they are paid to post ads, then it's bad, but they'll also kill the entire thing themselves by doing so.
whiiiich was the feature I was looking for mostly.
Which isn't even necessary.

How about a big informative thread that dodges all negative points or almost always tries to 'suggest' people use nvidia.
Which isn't even necessary.
you are right, instead of buying a HD 5850, I'm going to get a GTX 295 because it is faster, but not DX11. DX11 isn't necessary. or This car has a GPS built in, and is the same price as that car without it. Should I get the one with the GPS, or the one without? dumb post.
