how physic does
how physic does
thats the joke
Higher airflow = lower component heat = same heat being blown out, but over a longer period of time.
If you keep a component at 50C, it will create heat, but it will be the same amount of heat, over a longer period of time. Instead if you try and cool off a 125C component, it will give out lots of heat over a smaller amount of time.
If the room has poor ventilation then it will still heat up regardless of how good your case is, it'll just take longer.
Now here's a non-reference cooler for the GTX 470 that got my attention.

70c under load or idle?
My old 8800gt was getting 80c at load
70C's better than 90C.
I know, but it still seems kinda hot considering it's a 3-slot cooler with 3 fans
And it still gets to 70c
And how exactly is 70C bad under load?
Sorry but I looked at my post and can't find the word bad in it, maybe you could pinpoint it for me
Now thats just overkill
can't get enough shiny stainless steel
Sorry but I looked at my post and can't find the word bad in it, maybe you could pinpoint it for me
"And it still gets to 70c"
It's obviously a negative statement, even more so with the word "still".
I know, but it still seems kinda hot considering it's a 3-slot cooler with 3 fans
have you even seen the temperatures for that card? no, shut up
have you even seen the temperatures for that card? no, shut up
Yeah I have

fff why didn't someone post a link to that
that's a terrible cooler then if it makes hardly any improvement over the reference cooler
they could be smart and turn the fan up
How is 70C under load at all bad?
It's not
The fact that it takes 3 fans and 3 slots to get there is
you know whats bad? your posts
[editline]10:28PM[/editline]
the "fermi runs hot lolol" jokes aren't funny anymore. They're out, and everyone should know the real deal.
It's not

Just wait until Thermalright releases a cooler for it. Then it'll take up 3 slots, use 1-2 fans, and get 70C running FurMark. :v:
or you could deal with the regular stock cooler, which is good enough for a 800 core overclock
It's not

or it's just a shit cooler.
size and number of fans does NOT mean quality

This thread is NOTHING compared to the programming subforum.
late, but if that's true, someone needs to be banned, don't they? it's clear forum code of conduct everywhere that you don't shit down peoples necks which you admit happens around you, then we should remove the source of the problem.
again, preaching anti-nvidia in a thread dedicated to positive discussion/fanboyism of said company is trolling and in conflict with the code of conduct. the rules are simple, either you fit in or you fuck off. let idiots be idiots and biggots be biggots. but destroying a thread to be the awesome right guy in the manner that you, Ph0ne and Olih did is fail and would net a permaban if the mods in here had any sense of how the rest of the internet would handle this and if they were indeed here instead of trolling in the refuge camp/ gold members lounge.
i'm even guessing that i might get hurt for this post, unlike most other places on the web where they would (i know that's bold and that's nowhere near my expectations) would apologizes for shitty execution and give me a lollipop of sorts.
in short, we're raging at you for misunderstanding where to take your mission and the mods interfered too late to fix it.
and i'm late as hell.
TL;DR: you're arrogant as fuck and i'd teach you a thing or two if you weren't concealed by anonymous.
