wow odellus rude
ok ok shut the fuck up now talk about fermi
gtx 465 custom cooler shit http://www.bit-tech.net/news/hardware/2010/06/01/msi-readies-a-custom-cooled-gtx-465/1
How is Celsius easier to understand? That doesn't make any sense. They're numbers that you associate with how hot or cold it is.
0 is the freezing point of water... the most fundamental temperature landmark on earth. And 100 is the boiling point, every degree is 1/100th of the scale between solid and gas. I'm pretty sure that makes more sense than our arbitrary Fahrenheit system. But to each his own.

Changing that is stupid especially when most of us already use Celsius to measure things that need measured in Celsius, like computer part temperatures (because they're relatively high).
who gives a fuck about units of measurement and their systems?
who gives a fuck about units of measurement and their systems?

Who the fuck uses F, either use C, or K :colbert:
that guy
I see... anyways it's a stupid thing argue about, but it's better than reading ATI vs Nvidia shit in this thread...

shouldnt be hard since they both share the same pcb if i recall
shouldnt be hard since they both share the same pcb if i recall
WC GF100 seriously you'd be appalled at how much of an OC you can get out of them on water.
The US should just hurry up and make Celsius the standard already. I deal with tech a helluva lot more than the weather.
you do know that we were on the metric system for a while before the imperial, right?
you do know that we were on the metric system for a while before the imperial, right?
Then why'd you switch
Then why'd you switch
it was a government decision (i'm positive anyway) centuries before any of our existences i'm pretty sure it comes down to factories, machinery, and mechanics all using imperial for measurement unless it's japanese i don't want to continue this dreadfully pointless argument, but i have a couple of questions a) were you aware that the imperial system is in fact newer, and that the US used both metric and imperial before switching to just imperial? b) why is it that, with driving, you use miles for distance measurement on a map or a road sign, and then kilometres per hour for speed?

I dunno where you think i live? :3: [editline]09:58AM[/editline] And yes, I know that the imperial system is newer.
Hey Guys, I just realized. F, C, K We need a temperature system that starts with U :downs:
I tried, can't find it.
Well, the stupid thing with F is that it's not "compatible" with K and C. K and C have equal intervals between each degree making them easy to interweave with eachother. For the whole planet, Miles and F are hard as hell to relate to and in a world where 20% of all TV is american, we just go blank whenever the "60 miles" sign show up. we're just... "ooookaaayyy, that's about 100KM/h riiight?" not to mention that F is totally unfigurable. if the 20=cold 70=warm 80=hot is the best understanding you have of this system, then you're better off ditching it since it serves "dumb american" stereotype well. The reason K is used is because 0k is the absolute coldest it can get, no particles can move at all if it gets that cold. in other world, 0k= ultimate death with no recovery. at 273.15K water starts to melt and we smacked a new system on 0C. it runs parrallel with K with equal intervals, the scale has just been moved to a new starting poing, easy as hell to figure out. at 100C water boils and the Kelvin scale has reached 373.15. all the while Europe, Asia, Afrika, Australia and Honolulu has no fucking clue where Fahrenheit is and what the hell he is doing, all we know is that he's lousy company since no one can figure that fucker out= not cool! now, let's get started on the Metric vs Imperial system. Did you know that the metric system is internationally consistent while Miles vary depending on regions and countries... /science oh, and fuck trying to get Fuck together With FCK we allready have KFC
Even if the US wanted to switch to using metric, it is incredibly hard, because then they would have to replace every road sign with miles in it, every therometer that reads in Fahrenheit, etc. Obviously they would've done it already if it was that simple. And they are both a system of arbitrary numbers; it's just that the metric system is based on powers of 10, so it is easier to understand. Anyways, let's get back on topic. So apparantly all GTX 465's can be unlocked to having 448 shader units, read more here: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=322919 Before After
lol [editline]04:47PM[/editline] no really that's all I have to say.
i dont think its normal that my 2nd gpu is 8c hotter than my 1st.

Weird. I was just having this conversation about Units of Measurement with a friend. I then come to this thread and see the argument but our argument started with Time. 12 hour vs 24 hour time keeping.
Weird. I was just having this conversation about Units of Measurement with a friend. pixel fillrate stays the same at 19.5.. 352 or not.. hmm. Don't know if it's a GPU-Z bug or not.. maybe it tricks GPU-Z into thinking you still have that extra cluster. The 470 has 40 ROPs, 320-bit memory, compared to 32 ROPs and 256-bit memory

that's a case of good and bad rebranding (if it really is rebranding but from where it stands it looks like it is) bad for the people who bought a 470. good for...everyone else i guess.
well the memory bus and other things do contribute to the performance, and I'm not too sure how they overclock.
they aren't as fast as you think they would be. http://www.gnd-tech.com/main/content.php/238-ASUS-GTX-465-SoftMod
so the GTX 485 / new fermi card will be out later this year, 512 cores.
