Where is it on sale?
Komplett.no, it's a Norwegian site.
Why benchmark a old game that doesn't push a GPU? TomsHardware had a bench on MW2 and it got over 50FPS on 1980x1200 with everythng maxed. W@W will be fine.
Because I like to know what to expect. And if I remember correctly WaW is more graphically intensive then MW2, not quite sure.
So, I'm buying one right now? Nothing to worry about? I'll wait 5 mins for a responce then I'll buy. [editline]02:48PM[/editline] 6 minutes, you guys are slow :argh:

750W Corsair, no problems on that end. i7 920 as well, so no bottleneck whatsoever. [editline]03:32PM[/editline] Ordered. I feel like I've betrayed my trustworthy GTX 280. :saddowns: I'll have problems sleeping tonight. :ohdear:

Anyways, I heard you can use other Nvidia cards as dedicated PhysX cards. Though, I'm not really sure if my Corsair 750W can handle both the GTX 280 and the GTX 480.

Scratch that, the 480 says 600watt needed and the 280 says 500.
I'm selling my BFG 9600GT on amazon for $50 if anyone is interested http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00150ZERS/?seller=A2XFDZGLZWH7W6

It's real good for like, using as a paperweight, or a coaster. [editline]06:55PM[/editline] I'm gonna get the EVGA 460, but i have a AMD 6000+ X2 3.0Ghz. Bottleneck?

Bottleneck?
yes, if you flash your bios, I'm willing to bet it will support a Phenom II, if you have the money I recommend getting a 955.
yes, if you flash your bios, I'm willing to bet it will support a Phenom II, if you have the money I recommend getting a 955.
Wait, will a Phenom II actually go into a AM2+ socket? I thought all Phenoms were AM3?
They work with some AM2+s
Wait, will a Phenom II actually go into a AM2+ socket? I thought all Phenoms were AM3?
all the sockets from am2-am3 are physically the same, your motherboard manufacturer may have a BIOS update to support AM3 CPU's
Am i right in thinking that Phenoms are AMD's quad cores right? If so, this is great news, i wanted to upgrade my CPU to a quad core, but meant i had to upgrade my MoBo, and doing that mean't i had to upgrade to DDR3. And i couldn't afford all of that at once. So a quad core Phenom II AM3 will work on this motherboard? http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16813131068 (My current motherboard) If so, i could just do that for a while, then when i get the money, upgrade to another motherboard and different ram. Sorted.

I hope that in the future you can set up the Fermi cards as dedicated PhysX/Tessellation cards
That would've been incredibly useful.
You can?
Hey guys, im deciding between these cards so heres a list and ill leave you all to decide.. (Sorry for putting this in here, its a long story) GTX 480 SC Pros: Better Tessellation Cons: Heat, Power Consumption HD 5970 Pros: Generally Faster Cons: Bad Tessellation, Micro stutter
uh just get a regular GTX 480 [editline]12:48AM[/editline] http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121373&cm_re=gtx_480-_-14-121-373-_-Product [editline]12:50AM[/editline] and microstutter is fucking awful by the way [editline]12:53AM[/editline] and no, 480 is generally on par, slightly faster, or slightly slower (~3 FPS) with the 5970 I would say it's much better for the price
Ok, and would an i5 750 bottleneck a GTX 480
Ok, and would an i5 750 bottleneck a GTX 480
Haha, not at all.
The Zotac GTX 480 seems to have a very good cooling and more quiet than regular GTX 480.
Got my 460 today, i plugged her in and upon starting up... still got the same problem. So turns out there was nothing wrong with my old graphics card, it was the PCI slot on my motherboard. I now have the 460 in the other PCI x8 slot. Will this effect performance very much, a x16 card in a x8 slot? I'll be getting a new motherboard, which means i'll need a new CPU and RAM. Aaah it never ends.
