Yeah now I found it, when I was capping it I thought "Wasn't there a screen capture? I'm quite sure there was." but even looking around I completely missed the camera in the top right corner.
The fan is like a jet engine on auto, so why would I manually put it even higher?

Do you even own a fermi? It sound like a jet when you have the case open.
And I haven't seen one person who is comfortable gaming without headphones. the aural awareness (especially in FPS games) is too hard to let go.

I do have a Gainward GTX 480.
Well, I have a set of oversized speakers. And when I have friends over, it's stupid to use headphones if they're watching.
And the amout of bass i get from these speakers.. I must say I enjoy it more than what you get from your headphones.
I can actually feel a grenade or a gunshot when I use my speakers.

Well I guess that's your preference then. In the meantime try to find a compensation point for Fan speed/noise/temps.
I currently have a Radeon HD 5750 card, it's getting old and I really want to get a new one but I don't know what card to get, or if I should get ATI or Nvidia, something around 150-300 pounds preferbly. I'll most likely go for the 5850 but I don't know.

Just fyi, the site http://www.tinypic.com is great for media upload without requiring you to sign up, you just pick the file, do a captcha, and you get a link in any form you like. I use it anytime I post an image.
Also, Exp Review got a hold of a GTX 480 with all 512 Cuda Cores enabled, the results, are a bit scarry... in a bad way. You'll know what I'm talking about when you see page 6.

I would like to be the first to call bullshit on this.
Mainly because of the highly dubious power consumption and the unknown manufacturer of the card. This might be the greatest scam of the technological decade.
no way, and I've never heard of this website before until now
They are almost always first on the hardware front and pretty damn accurate.
Perhaps there was a greater reason not to launch the 512sps version
how have i never heard of them before then?
Hey now, it wasn't me who posted it! It must be true!
Also, I laughed.
how have i never heard of them before then?
I guess you don't check many reviews or just hand here on facepunch.
I guess you don't check many reviews or just hand here on facepunch.
I read a few reviews here and there, it's not like I'm subscribed to any RSS feeds or anything, but I've never once seen them on the first page for a Google search. It's always Guru3D, Anandtech, Tom's Hardware, or pcgameshardware.
not sure if anyone mentioned this, but something i found ironic about the name fermi.
dont know if you know but enrico fermi built one of the first nuclear reactors. and they use immense heat to generate electricity.
and according to a crap load of reviews the 470 and the 480 are incredibly hot...
A) that's actually not at all ironic, do you really know what ironic means?
B) everyone already knows about the heat
C) they're built to withstand the heat, and they do, quite nicely
[editline]11:19PM[/editline]
oh and uh
D) iirc the reference cards are not really substantially hotter than the reference cards of the equal/competitor cards from ATI. could be wrong though just pretty sure it's like a 5 celsius difference at the most which isn't a big deal at all at that temperature.
[editline]11:22PM[/editline]
also fuck man what is it with people and electricity consumption holy shit
"I DON'T LIKE THIS CARD IT USES A LOT OF ELECTRICITY I NEED THAT ELECTRICITY TO SAVE DOLPHINS AND CHARGE THE BATTERIES FOR MY VIBRATOR EEEUUUGGGHHH" shut up fuck
how have i never heard of them before then?
New GTX 460 version: Zotac AMP! Edition 1GB (810/1620Mhz)
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Zotac/GeForce_GTX_460_Amp_Edition/1.html
Seems to be a very good pre-overclocked card. And the price doesn't seem to be too high for its perfs.

But it's still not the definitive 460 yet, and the MSI cyclone edges it out in overclockability and value.
259$? Damn.
Im waiting for a 460 that has cooling on all the parts, hopefully with it I can break the 900 MHz barrier so many are seeing.

I think GTX 460 AMP! Edition is for people who don't want to loose the warranty. Or just don't want to overclock their graphic card. That's why it's worth it.

Overclocking and voltage increasing now fall within your warranty, Not overclocking your shit these days is dumb.
Who knows what would next, maybe hard-mods will be covered by your warranty in a few years.
I want one of them GTX480's.

Don't know if this fact is right on others countries (like France).

5850's are stupid and obsolete now.
Would a Q9450 2,66GHZ CPU bottleneck two GTX 460 1GBs in SLI?
[editline]04:42PM[/editline]
And how much power would I need?
EVGA 470 or PNY 465 that might flash to 470?
