MSI Wind U230 Got it a bit less than a year ago for $300, great deal. [editline]26th July 2011[/editline]
Anybody using Sony Viao, or am i missing out on something about Asus and HP?
HP is terrible on quality, ASUS is great with quality

I remember I chose it back in the day for its "gaming" performance and looks. Now the battery is really tired, only gets an hour and a bit.

Great battery life surprisingly. Sorry about the watermark, best photo I could find without taking one myself.
As you can see on the left it's not running windows any more... Also the one I have doesn't have the hot points or whatever they're called printed on the track pad. However the original windows xp install had the drivers installed so they would still work. That got turned off pretty quick. This thing has had it's monitor, hdd, powersupply and motherboard replaced (not in that order). Isn't extended warranty sweet? However the stupid fucks from geek squad would always reformat to the xp install destroying all the data on my Ubuntu install.
It's an HP dv6000, outdated as far as games, but honestly I haven't bought a new game in a few years. It does ok for source games on med to low settings, and besides gaming it's pretty fast. Battery is shot though, but I keep it plugged in mostly anyways.
Forgot to say the drive bay is empty. I lost it in my laundry hamper (last place I've seen it).
Alienware m15x Got it at xmas, good for gaming no complaints except the terrible battery. (ignore the plate at the bottom right, i was hungry :3)

I had windows on it for 7 months, but just two weeks ago I decided to install Chrunchbang Linux on it instead. Much faster now. Gateway P6831-FX Battery is nearly shot (about 32% maximum charge now), so is the power button (have to turn it on with the arrow button next to it), my dog stepped on and broke a couple of keys (-,=,[ oh god it's annoying pressing the little rubbers), but she (the computer, not the dog though the dog is female :v: ) still runs like she's new with kept up maintenance. :3
If it's out of warrenty, whats stopping you replacing the keys and power button.
Laziness and funds. That and I'm planning on a new laptop at it's 4 year mark if I can afford it then. Meh, I guess I really should try though.

Dell Studio 1458 I get up to 7 hours with it just browsing, its great for classes. Kind of weak for gaming, but it does TF2 at 1024x768 on medium at 45 fps. I do wish it had a few more USB ports, it only has 2. [editline]26th July 2011[/editline] Tough I must say I bought it for 700 euro's.

I dont see anyone getting yelled at becuase of their laptop. I just posted a pice of imformation. Is it a crime to state that you got something as a gift?

I'm surprised I didn't get boxes for owning a Mac, but I got a rainbow since Mac users are all "Mac Fags" or whatever.
That mobo temp is a bit hot, is that at idle?
No I had a few things going at the time.
[editline]27th July 2011[/editline]
No I had a few things going at the time.
Ah allright just a bit curiouse :v:
I think its really retarded how you can get called dumb for owning a alienware or a mac. There just computers, most of the time people are probibly just jelouse. Its personal preferance in my opinion.
Not jealousy, it's usually just blind hate and/or fanboys. BUT that's on both sides, go look at Mac based forms and look at all the PC hate there. It's beyond stupid regardless of what OS you use since in the end a Mac is still a PC and Alienware is just a brand.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834157822 not bad for what I paid for it(400$), maxes source games pretty easily
Too cheap to buy a laptop. Maybe if I had an actual need for one I'd consider.
