why is this a thread
Windows 7 is the best OS on the market today. The only reason XP is still supported is because businesses arn't ready to upgrade to 7 yet.
Windows 7 is the best Windows OS on the market today.
Fixed that for you. Let's not get cocky :D
my computer is windows xp, you should get 7. Windows xp has been left ou tnow, it cant run dx 10 or 11 and never will. Infact, given the chance i would go windows 7 without thinking twice
Why not just decompile direct x, add xp support, and recompile it? It's not that hard guys... jeez. I swear, it's as if nobody has ever heard of "reverse engineering" before...

XP, it's an easy decision :colbert:
7, it's an easy decision :colbert:
I'd definitely go with 7.
7 is far superior to Xp. 7 is what Vista should have been in the first place.
Linux, it's the best decision :colbert:
Linux, it's the best decision :colbert:
Fuck No [editline]07:34PM[/editline] you probably use it cause it's freeware
Windows is pretty open to me.
Well, seeing as how Windows 7 is better than Windows XP anyway, it looks nicer, it does everything XP did, and Microsoft is not even supporting Windows XP anymore...Why shouldn't you get XP? /endsarcasm Now seriously, get Windows 7. [editline]04:02PM[/editline]
Linux, it's the best decision :colbert:
Only if you like messing with code on an everyday basis and want less programs. And don't even think about gaming on it.
Windows 7 is getting a requirement for the support of new software and hardware...... PS the support for windows xp has not ended yet. Wikipedia
Support status: Extended Support until 8 April 2014 (only Service Pack 3 x86 and Service Pack 2 x64)[2] Security updates will be provided free of cost. Paid support is still available.

Windows is pretty open to me.
Downloading the Windows 2000 partial source code doesn't not count as being open.
Good luck with your "Linux"
Good luck with your "Linux"
You really suck at trolling.
Really? I'd ask everyone I know and they won't know what Linux is.
Then the people you know just aren't that tech savvy. [editline]05:34PM[/editline] My mum is yet to understand the difference between xp that she uses at work, and Vista that we use at home.. her full understanding of the two different Os's "They look different"
Really? I'd ask everyone I know and they won't know what Linux is.
I'd ask everyone I know and they wouldn't be able to tell if they run XP, Vista, or Windows 7, and that's if they know what Windows is in the first place.
Only if you like messing with code on an everyday basis and want less programs. I hate that i'm the only person i know in real life that uses Linux, especially as my main OS. Everyone is a Windows tard, and they wonder why their shit keeps getting infected.
Makes you sound like an elitist.
I dont mean to sound elitist, but damn, the average home user is so ignorant, thinking having norton and mcafee together keeps them well protected... if it did, i wouldn't have to fix their machines 50 times a year.
I like Linux. its just sad that windows is the standard.
I like Linux. its just sad that windows is the standard.
Sad indeed.
2 people out of how many people here?
Bought Windows 7 upgrade edition at play.com around about £79, upgraded from XP and have been happier ever since. Windows 7 is alot faster, it's smoother, it looks much better, it deals with crashing much better (Doesn't come up with thousands of 'Not Responding' stuff, just goes white and tries to fix it for you). It basically is much better than Windows XP.

Would make dealing with hanging programs much nicer.
