Polly will eventually marry these two. Calling it now.

Yeah I was so close to getting a Lian-Li, but they've really fallen behind in watercooling support so I went with a Case-Labs. They've got the aluminum down to a tee too imo.
is lenovo any good at desktops? i know a few people in this thread are really in to thinkpads
SwiftKey seems fine here, where did you all install it from
It seems to be a Chrome + SwiftKey thing, so use Chrome for FP and it might happen. It's occasional.

The thinkcentres are beautiful, but why would you buy them instead of building a desktop?
I've been wanting to get one of the older, horizontal models (maybe even IBM's) to retrofit with newer parts and make into an HTPC. Do they use custom PSUs?
The SFF thinkcentres make excellent pfsense/untangle boxes though.
Wow, a hotel with fast internet? This is unheard of! Faster speeds than I even get at home.

pageking ftw

Most of the ones around here have 3/1 for free and like 15/1 for $10 a day.
In Toronto, it varies.
Best case scenario, you are in a cheaper hotel with a free 25/10 connection no one else is using.
More accurate scenario, you're in a more expensive hotel with 2/1 - 5/2 with paid options for faster Internet.
If you're at a huge event, i.e. a convention or conference, sometimes the paid options are not any faster than the free one.
If you live in the country you're staying in a hotel in, and you have a phone data plan, you might as well use that if you can. In the hotels I've stayed in (for conventions, i.e. Anime North), LTE reception is pretty good and works fine throughout the busy weekend.
We just got new standard desktop models at work, and they're adorable

These are replacing the ProDesk 600 cause they're cheaper and nobody ever upgrades or puts expansion cards in the 600s. The 2.5" drive is 7200RPM so the big difference is the 45W i5 vs the 4590

This is 100mbps/70mbps. Like holy shit.
It's a hotel on a college campus though so I'm guessing it's using their network but still.
They're so cute!

The Dell Optiplex and Lenovo Thinkcenter versions are pretty nice too. I'm thinking about replacing my old HTPC with one.
ergh fucking CCC wont open. The process is there, RUNNING. Fucking open and let me edit things.
Just when you thought AMD's trademark issue with the CPU sticking to the heatsink wasn't bad enough:

Yep, AMD is offering one free delidding service with every CPU and heatsink install!

I've had the whole processor come out with the heatsink on more than one occasion. I don't understand why intel processors almost never do that

They're in a cage.

Because there's tight ass latch clending down the CPU into the socket at all time, that's why.

I know that much, but it seems like AMD processors stick harder to the heatsink.
maybe lapping the processor and possibly heatsink depending on which one you have would help a bit, give the thermal paste less surface area to bite to
Whoaaa, I just got a 144hz monitor after having only played on 60hz for my whole life (also my first 1080p monitor). What a difference, this stuff is nuts. I thought people were blowing the 60hz vs. 120hz thing out of proportion but this is crazy.
Anyone here who replaced their phone digitizer by any chance?
Mine is expected to come in at the end of the day today, but the adhesive pads I ordered are very likely to come later.
Considering I've been without a phone for about two weeks I'm kinda impatient, and I'm looking for a better adhesive which I can grab in my country. Any ideas?

I've replaced plenty of digitizers in the past, and the adhesive pads are generally already applied on the backside of the digitizer. I'd suggest you to wait until you get the digitizer first before buying anything else.
You'd think lowering the game display resolution would increase the frame rate right? Well looks like it doesn't always..
You'd think lowering the game display resolution would increase the frame rate right? Well looks like it doesn't always..
It should though. Smaller resolution = less pixels to be calculated by the GPU.
What game are you playing?
Does anyone have a link to that kickass image enlarger that smooths it out and makes it not all blurry and awful?

i used an off brand adapter on my mac mini, no issues. what are you trying to do?
A CAD program will show every mistake in your monitor configuration so fast, it's not even funny.
I couldn't see the alignment grid for parts because the black levels on my monitor were way the fuck off.
Anyone have a script or something to remove/hide avatars here on FP?
