guys, slack is the future. [t]http://i.imgur.com/FJATjcl.png[/t] see?
How much are they paying you per post?
i use it for a thing i edit videos for -- i really like it and it's nice to use. that so bad?
It's that thing I wanted before, only now it exists, just not available in Australia :suicide: https://store.google.com/product/_ethernet_adapter_for_chromecast
I'm gunna stay on Windows 7 because it's perfect.
are you one of people who walk around in public and randomly say "im a pc and windows 7 was my idea"

What the hell were they thinking?
This was no doubt much cheaper to design, retool for and produce. I have a sinking feeling that we aren't getting a Chromecast refresh any time soon and that this is a sticky plaster to hold us over.
Mmm, bottlenecked by USB instead of true gigabit ethernet.
True, its only going to be slightly above the theoretical speeds wireless N provides. But to be honest, I've never seen an N connection come close to approaching 300mbits.
I'm gonna splurge my dosh on a Miracast dongle instead anyway, even if they're twice the price. Full mirroring of my smartphone screen is sweet, Chromecast only seems to work on Google approved apps that have it implemented.
Mmm, bottlenecked by USB instead of true gigabit ethernet.
And your streaming to even a 4k TV oversaturates the USB connection? I don't think so.
And your streaming to even a 4k TV oversaturates the USB connection? I don't think so.
Bandwith is one of those things I'd rather have so much that I'd never exceed it, instead of hitting occasional speedbumps. So yes, I do question Google's implementation.
Bandwith is one of those things I'd rather have so much that I'd never exceed it, instead of hitting occasional speedbumps. So yes, I do question Google's implementation.
But you'd have so much you'd never exceed it :v: That's the point
man who cares about irc slack is the future
I prefer my chat client to have virtually no overhead and optional GUI.
But you'd have so much you'd never exceed it :v: That's the point
Exactly, one less thing to worry about.
I'd go for a PoE chromecast though
I'd go for a PoE chromecast though
That could be handy for kiosk-like setups. Chromecast for businesses.
I already have a Samsung Smart TV and can stream content from my phone to it over WiFi - I guess I am not the target market for the Chromecast or Miracast?
except most current android phones have screencasting of full screen
As in full-out mirroring of EVERYTHING done on the phone (after it's booted ofcourse) with zero noticeable latency? Because that's what I'm after, and MHL is a no-go due to potential USB OTG usage sequentially.

I've got a small issue. I have Bose QC25 headphones and they come with an audio control built-in to the wire. When I use them on the Xonar DG sound card, I get severely limited audio range unless I'm holding the play/pause button on the wire. Currently searching google for a solution but no luck yet.
It's wired in a strange way, an adapter of sorts should fix it
It works fine on my motherboard audio, but not the sound card. Someone on Head-Fi had the same issue without any resolution other than to get a new / different cable. Hopefully I can find a cable that supports the QC25s. The end that goes into the headphones (needs a M/M connector) has to be long and skinny to reach the slot inside the cup.
Serious question time Is there anywhere I can buy one of these? I want to stick it to the side of my mouse at work so I can do my job one handed.
I knew someone a long time ago who built a working version of that old internet ctrl + alt + delete keyboard photograph. Years before I got my Nostromo N52 I did the same thing to an old Atari keypad and mapped the buttons for HLDM and Quake. You can do it with a USB keyboard and it won't interfere with your normal keyboard but you need to be skilled at welding plastics. Why not just bind to a macro? I got cut, copy and paste bound to G16, G17 and G18 on my keyboard.

Maybe if you buy a new mouse?
Ive got a couple extra inputs on my mouse that would work, but I can't install anything on my work computer to configure them.

It sounds like whatever the problem is, is causing phase cancellation...
Does the sound card have balanced audio or something? It sounds like whatever the problem is, is causing phase cancellation...
Not sure what you mean by balanced audio. It has a headphone amp feature in it, which might be the reason (Since the other guy had the issue with an Asgard 2 Amp) while the motherboard audio does not. I'm going to get another audio cable soon to see if that's the reason. Because I'm 99% sure that it's the in-line remote fucking with things.
My onboard audio barely works anymore, and my sound card gets really choppy every once in a while, so I made a batch file on my desktop that restarts all the audio drivers and services. That works like a charm for another few days.
