yep, pandora is awful
[editline]13th July 2015[/editline]
ads and not being able to skim more than a few songs you don't like, when pandora is pretty fucking good at taking what you like and giving you similar things but bad
So I guess Ubiquiti's VoIP phones are just basically Android phones.
Also I just like Google Music. Works for me.
You're shitting me. It's shuffling and tastes is awful plus it's still stops you from skipping after a while even after paying. Plus for me it breaks when you don't play it for a few hours and you just leave the web tab there.
"Oh, you like Weezer? How about some awful Green Day?" -pandora, every single damn time i've tried to use it
The UI on the Android application is an abomination though, its behaviour seems to follow no pattern.
I feel like I get menus popping up from all 4 sides and I have no clue how to get back to where I was, so I just really use the search function now. Only time I use it on my phone is in my car via bluetooth.
Except that would not be a bad case. I like both.
No a good example is this.
Oh you like Eminem? Nah fuck you have some John Dish

i'm not causally calling green day awful there, i'm talking about the section of green day songs most people consider to be awful -- it never seems to play anything anyone holds in high regard
ding ding ding ding ding

Why? I'm more than willing to pay for a better product.
I listen to mostly ambient electronica with it when I need background noise for work/mapping, so I suppose my tastes are probably different than most, granted.
That said, It's helped me discover a whole ton of new music in that vein and thends to play songs I like a lot pretty frequently.
Protip: When you get the app for Pandora One, you can get unlimited skips by just closing the app and opening it again B)
ding ding ding ding ding

you forgot "it was the first service on the scene that was"
there are better options out there for both high quality streaming and just streaming music
[editline]13th July 2015[/editline]
i liked the spotify web player though
I very rarely change avatar, my previous one I had unchanged for a good 7 years, I'm pretty pleased with this new one although it took me forever to animate.
Also I've confirmed my power supply is really screwed, the voltages were all very low, I'm amazed I even got it to boot this morning, after some more testing I noticed the 5V measured 20V! so yeah, time to get a new one, www.amazon.co.uk/Seasonic-S12II-620-ATX12V-Standard-Supply/dp/B003BIEOCI maybe this ?
Get this instead. Basically the same PSU, but fully modular. For the same price.
my problem with spotify is the ui
they always fuck the ui up, the desktop one is absolutely horrid
Is there no form of skinning to it at all? I haven't used Spotify in a long time (cept on PS4), so I have no idea if the desktop version is skinnable.

no skinning
I should change my avatar at some point but it's composed of the only art I've commissioned, and some cool snow/~cherry blossoms~ a friend animated for it (I think it was Kaze?). I have some other art but this is stylized enough to not make me look like a furry degenerate
...you can get 660s for $100 somewhere? god damn.

Even if you could skin it, that'd only solve the aesthetic issues, and it'd still be a slow turd to navigate. It's seriously the slowest, clunkiest piece of software I have installed, and I don't know why that is.
I love Spotify, I pay for it, and I use it while gaming or chilling at the pc, streaming music through my phone while I'm driving, and listening on my tablet at work to fill the void.
That being said, I fucking hate Spotify. Their "shuffle" isn't a shuffle at all, it plays the same shit over and over and ignores some songs, their ui is a bastardized mobile friendly shit pit, and the grande fuck you is that you can't change the audio output on the desktop version unless you change your entire default playback device or buy a 10$ third party equalizer add-on. Oh yeah, there's no vanilla equalizer either, for that matter.

I think adblock removes ads? I never hear them anyway. The only problem is that Pandora will eventually deviate from what you want to listen to. You can enter Dubstep and it'll eventually deviate to chillstep or something.

I think Duarte was high on bath salts when he came up with that one.
You'd think with all the money he spent on magic crystals and carbon fiber cables he could've made a tower that wasn't loud as fuck.
You try making a timeline animation of a 2D-layer angled 45 degrees away from the camera rotating through its own axis while maintaining lighting angles.
I feel like after effects could do that a little easier. Or photoshop with the manipulation tool and the lighting on it's own layer.

Or the alternative:
"I wanna listen to some chill drum n bass"
Pandora: "OH YOU LIKE DUBSTEP HUH HERE HAVE SOME SKRILLEX "
"No Pandora, that's not what I want, play me some early pendulum"
Pandora: "OK HERES KNIFE PARTY, ITS PRETTY MUCH THE SAME THING RIGHT"
"No Pandora, I'm gonna thumb down this dupstep"
Pandora:" OK YOU MUST NOT LIKE ELECTRONIC MUSIC HERE IS SOME NICKI MINAJ"
And that is how I switched to Spotify.
I feel like after effects could do that a little easier. Or photoshop with the manipulation tool and the lighting on it's own layer.
yep, i was going to say, a minute or five in after effects and it would be a sinch

At first I thought it was a normal troll doing troll audiophile things, but then you see all these cables and see he's in possession of like $50k "worth" of fucking power cables.
But I have a theory. I think he's the guy that makes them and runs that site.
I really want to start a bullshit audiophile company and see how far I can get with it.
Build time: 2 weeks
It's perfect. Nobody can call him a scam because there's already so much audiophile placebo garbage out there muddying the water.
Brb buying 20$ worth of plaster of Paris and glitter. I'm gonna be fucking rich.
[editline]13th July 2015[/editline]
And the suckers who buy it will never know it was a scam, it won't sound indifferent at all, but the f they're gullible enough to buy it, they already think shit like that makes a difference.
[editline]13th July 2015[/editline]
It's based in Sweden. Oh boy.
So it's Magic snakeoil glitter balls that "improve" audio quality in near proximity?
I have several questions
The reason bar codes hurt the sound is because we are able to detect the bar codes in the room and in the house by what I think I can safely say is extra sensory perception. We pick up on the fields these Bar Codes produce as interference
