god damn.
i seriously need to buy a M50x when, in the distant future, i go to a first world country. G430s just don't cut it.[/QUOTE]
Oh hey, it even works on mobile Chrome, sweet.
Speaking of that test, I'm calling BS on some of those. The uncompressed wav of Coldplays track had clipping and some modulation. The 128 was much clearer. I'm tempted to believe it's messed up.
Though X&Y had some odd mastering on it.
Infact almost in every single one the WAV sounded the worst to me. Usually too loud, clipping, and with some fuzziness to it.
[QUOTE=Levelog;47886309]Anyone know a workaround for this error?

Give Cisco money, that's the workaround.

I figured as much, just wanted to double check.

Heh, I selected that too.
I got 5/6 on the test. I was using the integrated sound card in the computer with a Sennheiser HD 416 which, according to reviews, is very flat. It's like flat on the EQ which is good.

[QUOTE=Akasori;47885722]I feel so conflicted right now.
I was going to return my laptop back to the store I bought it from because of all kinds of hard drive problems that didn't get fixed after a few trips to repair. They promised to return a portion of the original price plus some compensation for trouble. I was already prepared to buy a new laptop.
Then the idiot me just had to start playing with the laptop for the last time, and I managed to fix the problem. I had the event viewer open when it happened and it showed some events that I had never seen before. Makes sense, because they wouldn't show afterwards due to computer never being able to write them. Some googling and there it is, a driver issue. Apparently I had forgotten to install some drivers for this piece of shit (still, I wonder why the problem appeared after a year).
So, the problem is fixed. All is good and well, except I lost my chance to get a new better laptop at a "reduced" price. While this one is fine, the last repair introduced some physical issues on the computer. I'd take it back but there's no way I can prove they weren't caused by me, because I didn't bother to check it when I received the laptop.[/QUOTE]
Give it back anyway! The manufacturer will most likely shred it because the cost to rpr is too big

I'm on an integrated sound processor, but it's outputting Optical to my external Maverick D1 Headphone Dac unit, and then out to my Audio Technica M50x. Very clean sounding and often the differences between those sounds are more pronounced on my end.

Could be worse, could be Dell with their old ATX power supplies
Same connector, different pinout, use it without a matching mobo and enjoy the magic smoke

Bland and boring is what I like in a case
Unless you want to spend like like a 150+ dollars on a case, there aren't that many good looking HTPC cases out there.
While i still think the fractal design one is ugly as balls, its still probably gonna cost like 50 bucks and look better then almost anything else out there in the same priceclass.

I still can't believe I crashed the OBD II interface on my car. Fortunately all I had to do was turn the car on and off again but what. It's a 1999 Escort, the computer is like the bare minimum needed for OBD II. What could have possibly broke.
But it was amusing seeing my speed at 75 mph with no fuel consumption or engine RPM.

[QUOTE=Forumaster;47892671]Fuck minimum specs :v:[/QUOTE]
Makes me wonder, what kind of specs would an ECU from 1996 have? Obviously some low power microcontroller, but just curious.
[QUOTE=Demache;47892757]Makes me wonder, what kind of specs would an ECU from 1996 have? Obviously some low power microcontroller, but just curious.[/QUOTE]
I know some of the first ECU's for EFI were based on either the [URL="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_8088"]Intel 8808[/URL] or the [URL="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MOS_Technology_6502"]6502[/URL].
Basically the CPU of old home computers.
VW's old TDI engines (with Bosch distribution pump) used a 8bit microprocessor initially, but later on used a 16 bit one.
I also have a documentary of old formula 1 cars back when EFI and turbo's were first introduced, they also used the CPU of a old home computer.

I can't be arsed to find the exact spot in the documentary, but here it is if you're bored:

My modem was acting weird, so I rebooted it, logged into it. And the modem said it received new firmware something like sb6121ExtremeTier2, I unfortunately wiped the logs and the modem to reset it or I'd know for sure.

I have a form of content!
[quote][2015/06/06 14:03] [Dude]: Call me naive but I expect new gen cards to be better
[2015/06/06 14:03] [Me]: well they are better in a lot of ways
[2015/06/06 14:03] [Me]: they're much less power hungry and generate less heat
[2015/06/06 14:03] [Dude]: Yeah cus they perform less! lmao
[2015/06/06 14:03] [Dude]: Any card takes less power and generates less heat if it performs less
[2015/06/06 14:04] [Dude]: I mean stick the crappiest card in the world in ya PC and watch what happens :P
[2015/06/06 14:04] [Dude]: Doesn't mean you'll run much though
[2015/06/06 14:04] [Dude]: High performance generates height, thats a well known fact
[2015/06/06 14:04] [Dude]: High performance requires more power, also well known fact
[2015/06/06 14:05] [Me]: That is true, but there is such a thing known as die shrinks and architectural optimizations
[2015/06/06 14:05] [Dude]: So, uh, yes
[2015/06/06 14:05] [Me]: Smaller manufacturing = less heat produced
[2015/06/06 14:05] [Dude]: Eh, even a smaller chip can still generate alot of heat when put to the test
[2015/06/06 14:07] [Me]: Of course, but they still generate less heat than the larger dies. Like, hell, compare a 1st gen i7 to any recent Intel chip. Any decently high-end haswell, despite taking up less power and generating less heat, has a lot more raw processing power behind it
[2015/06/06 14:07] [Dude]: Put it this way, its kind of like expecting us not to sweat when we exercise and of course we generate more heat that way too, hence the sweating, tbh its really laws of physics
[2015/06/06 14:08] [Dude]: Oh I don't doubt they've improved on it but they'll never outperform a chip that requires so much power and gives off so much heat mainly because its extremely difficult to do so
[2015/06/06 14:08] [Dude]: imo its something we will never overcome unless we happen to have some real major genius who comes up with an alternative
[2015/06/06 14:10] [Dude]: Infact isn't it stated that even the old machines from world war 2 are still considered really powerful despite their size comparison to modern day computers?
[2015/06/06 14:10] [Me]: Uh. No?
[2015/06/06 14:10] [Dude]: Pretty sure they are dude
[2015/06/06 14:10] [Dude]: I mean ok you wouldn't wanna use one for modern day software, it won't stand a chance
[2015/06/06 14:11] [Dude]: But what they can and could do is still quite some heavy tech
[2015/06/06 14:11] [Dude]: Its large for a reason and gives off alot of heat for a reason, requires alot of power for a reason, thats the point I'm getting at
[2015/06/06 14:11] [Other dude]: They're large because they use vacuum tubes instead of transistors.
[2015/06/06 14:11] [Me]: They give off a lot of heat because they're inefficient
[2015/06/06 14:12] [Other dude]: Vacuum tubes generate a lot of heat.
[2015/06/06 14:12] [Dude]: Heh, vacuum tubes
[2015/06/06 14:12] [Me]: A lot of the energy they suck up is being wasted purely as heat
[2015/06/06 14:12] [Other dude]: And they're larger.
[2015/06/06 14:12] [Dude]: I thought it was mostly dotted paper xD
[2015/06/06 14:12] [Other dude]: Punch cards?
[2015/06/06 14:12] [Dude]: aye
[2015/06/06 14:12] [Me]: And trust me, they are DEFINITELY not in any way comparable to modern PCs in any shape of form. Not in power or in capability
[2015/06/06 14:12] [Dude]: Argh, lyo I think ya missing my point
[2015/06/06 14:13] [Another dude]: but they still have their uses
[2015/06/06 14:13] [Me]: well of course
[2015/06/06 14:13] [Another dude]: i hear the navy still uses DOS for inventory keeping
[2015/06/06 14:13] [Dude]: For what they WERE they WERE considered rather powerful and in some cases still are
[2015/06/06 14:13] [Dude]: Just not really efficient and yes we do have "better" computers
[2015/06/06 14:13] [Dude]: But hell it took us decades to even outperform something like that
[/quote]

So are 850 Evo's a good buy? I've got an 840 evo and I want an ssd for my steam library.
Newegg's got the 120GB for $70 and Amazon has it for $68. Have SSDs really gotten that cheap now or is this some sale?

Goddamn it, I don't get this feeling.
