We're sending help immediately, Mrs. Fletcher.
I have a form of content!
The larger the manufacturing process, the larger the gate, source and drain of the MOSFET, which means more voltage is required on the gate in order to induce the conducting channel between source and drain, which means it takes longer for the conducting channel to also close, after voltage is no longer applied. The more voltage, the more heat, since MOSFETs are voltage-operated devices, and the current draw is mostly static. The longer it takes for the channel to open and close, the longer the MOSFET spends outside saturation, meaning the resistance will be higher (instead of being at Rds(on)), for a longer period of time, which generates even more heat. The longer it takes for the channel to open and close, the lower the operating frequency of the entire circuitry can be. Please tell said person to shut the fuck up, if they don't understand basic electronics. I'm not even a bloody engineer, I'm just a person with access to Google.
[t]http://a.pomf.se/tvghqs.png[/t] clearly my laptop is ready
I'm surprised a 10 year old laptop can even handle Windows 7 to be honest
I'm surprised a 10 year old laptop can even handle Windows 7 to be honest
Windows 7 is over 5 years old though. I'd be quite surprised if a first gen core i system made in 2010 couldn't run w10.
Intel Celeron peasant race.
ftfy
ftfy
Hey now one of my servers is a Celeron :v:
So the scroll wheel on my Corsair M60 is playing up and no one seems to know to fix it. Bought a Razer Abyssus mouse, but it's fucked because it needs a mouse pad. The M60 doesn't. So now I'm stuck with this turd because I can't take it back as it's not a warranty issue and I'm out $40. :suicide: Fucking Razer, not buying their ever again. I can get a $5 that needs a mouse pad.

Up until my mouse stopped working on my mousepad I couldn't stand... not having a mousepad.

A mouse was designed to be used with a mousepad at the very beginning, and it has always been that way. Otherwise, the physical mouse movement would feel quite unsmooth (or too smooth, depending on your surface) and movement detection would also be terrible. This assumption has always been in place ever since. Razer hasn't done anything wrong, you're just hating them for a really dumb reason.

There isn't any way to work out if a mouse needs one or not. if you want to buy off me B!N4RY, you're more than welcome.
I've used Windows 7 on an old Pentium 4 machine for my hardware and software repair class at college, does seem to run rather well. Not sure that it would be powerful enough to decode 1080p video though. I'd imagine once Windows 10 is out the door that it should stay compatible with it, considering how specs keep stagnating on these sort of things. Core 2 Duo, its successor is basically a juggernaut at this stage.

There isn't any way to work out if a mouse needs one or not. if you want to buy off me B!N4RY, you're more than welcome.
There is no "way to work it out", because all mouse were designed with the assumption you'll be using a proper mousepad. Engineers aren't going to think of all the workarounds for the billion different combinations of table tops with different surface materials and opacity built into the mouse. Some mouse have a better sensor than others, and there is no universal set of rules defining what surfaces they must work with. Besides, why don't you just go to a dollar store and buy a mousepad? They're not expensive.

just buy a big mousepad, they are the best. I have a Qck+ myself, but you can also get desk covering ones if you're into that.
just buy a big mousepad, they are the best. I have a Qck+ myself, but you can also get desk covering ones if you're into that.
Nah, I'd prefer a mouse that works on all surfaces.
I need to get a proper mousepad at some point, using one of the Artscow $1 thingies, but it's so small.
I need to get a proper mousepad at some point, using one of the Artscow $1 thingies, but it's so small.
Artscow have bigger mousepad too and you can have prints of them too. Pretty sure their $1 discount won't ever apply on them though
Nah, I'd prefer a mouse that works on all surfaces.
My mouse works fine on all surfaces, a (good) mousepad feels much better though, it also has the added benefit of not scratching your desk and destroying the feet of your mouse.
How does something use 0.957 of a CPU? That's just a really stupid way of saying it requires the CPU to dispatch tasks to the GPU.
i destroy my feet anyway on any mouse mat i have no idea why i have a rough hand and i swipe for days
What mouse do you have? you can buy feet for razer mice on ebay for quite cheap iirc.
I'm surprised a 10 year old laptop can even handle Windows 7 to be honest
Vista is 9 years almost. And Windows 7 is simply an improved version of that. Windows 7 runs tolerably on a Pentium 4 even as long as you have the RAM and don't ask it to do heavy multitasking.
[t]http://i.cubeupload.com/j8hyra.jpg[/t] Just got back from IKEA, new bathroom mirror, cushions for the couches and a rug for the living room. I still need to get my Vika desk put together and my workstation shifted to my new office. I didn't realize just how heavy the Pax wardrobes are, so I'm going to have to grab that later this week, its going to be stood next to the desk my PC AT is on.
Me likey.
Seriously, I only went there for the desks & wardrobe, ended up spending a lot more than I planned to.
[t]http://www.kth.se/blogs/rfranco/files/2014/01/ikea-logo-vector.png[/t]
I just close my eyes and wander into the self help warehouse part of the local IKEA
I love going to IKEA, but it's exhausting. Wish I had a new place to fill with IKEA stuff, I like those contemporary designs.
[t]http://i.cubeupload.com/N6yrEF.jpg[/t] Aaaand were back online again.
What exactly do you run on it? Software and OS-wise. Is it a DOS? [editline]e[/editline] It's stuff like this that makes me want that DEC VT520 even more.
Because green phosphors. [t]https://dl.pushbulletusercontent.com/wYaRL1OLxLFzVSsc9onwIRefr92tn2uz/DSC_0037.JPG[/t]
Now that's just fucking bitchin'!
