And free legit filehosts either end up screwing over their users in one way or another, or do some questionable business.
Don't they all just run out of money? How can you make money if everyone just hotlinks stuff.
filehosts never last.
that's better
megaupload rapidshare and all those smaller fileshare sites which are now all gone and dead should show that it doesen't matter how big of a filehoster you are, you are gonna be dead sooner or later. I never stored critical files on fileshare sites, and probably never will, so I couldn't care less. pomf was just so damn convenient in sharing something quickly, but now I'll probably get off my lazy ass and make my own private filehosting system.
Oh, but big company filehosters do?
Any large commercial file host which has had money invested in it has the incentive to stay open to make a return, otherwise there'd be hell to pay. For example imgur. A hobby host has no one to answer to really. Sounds hollow, but I'd rather choose to upload stuff with a financial incentive to stay open, as money talks. [editline]9th June 2015[/editline] My post refers more to image sharing sites in particular, file hosts are a different story.
I just upload some photo stuff onto Imgur, although their android app could be better.
I just use the website for my phone. Works no problem.
Imgur seems to keep itself alive by doing the whole social networking thing. Its great as even though I don't personally make us of it, it means that they don't have to ruin the experience for us just uploading stuff to host as it keeps it sustainable. Seems them being a good sport also gives them even more attention too so its all good.
Don't they all just run out of money?
I just use the website for my phone. Works no problem.
The newer updates got rid of the ability to just copy the damn direct hotlink. I might go use the mobile site instead.
[t]http://i.cubeupload.com/C9Bq4V.jpg[/t] I'm quite pleased with this little thing. Battery life is good enough so far, will be better on a 9 cell.
I love my X201. I slapped in a 256 GB SSD and it's an awesome little laptop. I have my Vaio Pro 13 for most things, though I don't hesitate grabbing the Thinkpad for IT stuff or using anywhere a skinny-ass ultrabook could get damaged. Check for recalls on the battery, I got a brand new 6 cell overnighted to me for free.
I just upload some photo stuff onto Imgur, although their android app could be better.
I use Opengur. Works just fine. Still crashes if it can't load a long gif, but other than that it's fine. Long press on an image gets you a link.
http://archiveteam.org/index.php?title=Pomf.se Some good news with regards to Pomf.se it seems, to quote.
Pomf.se operators conteacted ArchiveTeam, and preparing the archiving process is being done with collaboration.
Thank fuck
pomf.se is shutting down. One of the very few filehosters, which were really good. I guess it's time to host my shit myself again. http://blog.pomf.se/post/121058516206/shutting-down
So many broken links incoming.
[t]http://i.cubeupload.com/C9Bq4V.jpg[/t] I'm quite pleased with this little thing. Battery life is good enough so far, will be better on a 9 cell.
OH my fucking God did you seriously have to give me an insanely hard erection
It's so cute
[t]http://i.cubeupload.com/C9Bq4V.jpg[/t]
If it weren't for the fact that I've seen many ThinkPads out in the wild as professional (more or less) laptops, I'd almost call them the neckbeardiest of laptops since those tend to be the main users of them. I can probably tell they're reliable enough for anyone if even our school system uses ThinkPads for teachers' PCs.
Woop woop. Estimated for Wednesday delivery. Gotta love British postal service ^_^

We need some 'new' laptops at work but our main software only runs on 32bit windows and isn't that heavy in terms of ram or CPU usage anyway, but good battery life, cheap and damn durable is a must. So some older thinkpads with new unoriginal batteries seems like the best option if only I could find a place that sold them.
what's the number for the internet police [t]http://puu.sh/iiynz/749fd7ad1d.jpg[/t] autoplay video flash ads full page overlay fuck me
You aren't running an adblocker in 2015. What are you doing?
You aren't running an adblocker in 2015. What are you doing?
uBlock is there in the top right. [editline]10th June 2015[/editline] God DAMMIT Amiga.
You aren't running an adblocker in 2015. What are you doing?
He's most definitely running ublock [editline]9th June 2015[/editline] Fucking hell. Double ninja.
I heard from a reliable source that he was running uBlock
Why isn't he using uBlock Origin, though?
I've actually been experiencing a fair few ads on ublock origin lately.
I've actually been experiencing a fair few ads on ublock origin lately.
Flush the blocklist cache then update it.
Am i the only one who still uses adblock plus? Seeing an advert is so damn rare.
Pepper;47917760']Am i the only one who still uses adblock plus? Seeing an advert is so damn rare.
ABP is more effective, but it literally cripples my laptop if I have just a few pages open that has/had ads on them. It just LOOOVES to gobble up memory, even moreso than shitty flash ads do.
I'm still using µBlock because I can't be fucked to update it combined with MVPS hosts file.
http://archiveteam.org/index.php?title=Pomf.se Some good news with regards to Pomf.se it seems, to quote. Thank fuck
Also I should say because I'm a lurker in the IRC channels, if you want to help out with the project, do so by grabbing the Warrior appliance and throw it on your hypervisor of choice. Even Hyper-V is supported with a special VM but support may be hard to come by, but VirtualBox or VMware Workstation/Player are recommended. Hop on #pomfret (for pomf-specific chatter) and #archiveteam (general chatter) on EFNet for project updates.
