Even in their programming language, you can't do anything unless Apple lets you.
I'm loving the new printer, mostly because of the sound it makes and how nice it is for prints to be warm... Considering setting it up in the living room since it's wifi enabled, too.

I've been using a mix of Alien ships and descriptives. SULACO-desktop, NOSTROMO-netbook, NARCISSUS (winphone)
But lately I've ran out of names so anything not important is just "Kingston 4GB" and "SHITBOX-MC" etc

i really hope youtube gaming takes off. i hate twitch with a passion - their player is shit, i can never watch anything even on medium without buffering, their memes are cancerous, the list goes on
There player is pretty bad for replays but for livestreaming it's good. The buffering is pretty much always an issue on your end, and "their" memes will follow to any streaming service because they are not "theirs" they are part of the games that are played.

Time to make a teletype-looking abomination by having it print a live IRC feed and take lines from a Selectric.
I use greek/roman mythology for my names.
Okay guys I need help again. How do I clone partitions from one drive to another in Windows 7?

I'm sure when they notice "kappa" is just a bunch of letters instead of le funny smug man they'll lay off the memes, honestly
They're more tied to streamers and their inside-jokes than the games they play, from what I've seen (The custom ones on Beaglerush's channel are hilarious, for example)

You get Hiren's Boot USB and use whatever tool that has, which will not care about what OS you're running and will always save you. I think it was CloneDisk last time I had it.

We have a client with 2 full 42u racks and all their systems are labeled in Greek mythology. I almost got a job there.

If you run Plan 9 you can do this in any language.
Oh, and Go can do this, as well as JavaScript.

This always sounded cheesy and overdone. Like, I know at least seven people who use mythological names for their machines.

I just call my laptop 'lappy-486', my hand-me-down desktop 'compy-386' (it should take a shotgun to the monitor like a Compy 386), and my R-Pi 'concessions'. You can probably guess what I got hooked into back in fifth grade.

Plan 9 did a lot of cool things. It's a shame the Acme SAC/Inferno version functions better than the Plan9Port Acme.
Any recommendations for getting cheap airfare, websites to use, etc. Also remember reading stuff about how they track your cookies and change prices that way.
The elitebook folio 1040 G2 is slick as fuck, just got them in at work. No ethernet though even though all the 840s have a nice collapsing jack that would totally fit. Also no VGA so we probably have to give out DP->VGA adapters with every one
Seems like tablets have really replaced low-spec notebooks, and that kinda sucks. I hadn't noticed until I started shopping around for a basic office/facebook machine for my mom, whom I've just barely gotten to understand Windows and trackpads, and there's really nothing below i5/1tb beasts for +$1000 (granted, that'd be like $400 in the US, but that still seems like a very high starting price for notebooks). She learnt to type on typewriters and is noticeably slow with chiclets, a flimsy keyboard cover on an 8.1 tablet would worsen that.
The advantage is that I could get her to buy a refurb t410 for $600 which would probably outlive her.

Looks like SkipLagged is only really useful when your trip is further in distance.
I've got:
* Polaris (main tower / command central)
* Shuttlecraft (old main system, currently a file server)
* Tarsonis (openSUSE laptop)
* Visionary (old P2 ish tower, currently unused)
* Paradisiac (Debian early model netbook)
* Pisces (old phone, now PMP)
* Victara (current phone, was going to call it something else but I liked the device codename)

My cooler arrives tomorrow. Would I be able to hit 5ghz with an a10-5800k and a cooler master hyper 212?
It's at 3.8 nominal now with a boost to 4.2. Could I reach 4.6?

In extra response to Kiwi's post, I overclocked my CPU from 4.2 to 4.9 and I notice my room gets significantly warmer when playing games. The CPU hits 68, and my GPU goes up to 60c. This caused a temperature difference of 6 degrees in my room when playing.

Also I know I'm switching ISPs and all but my current ISP has taken an all knew low and died at 2AM. From 12PM to 2AM. Reading through their twitter they're in damage control except it's not really controlled when it's been going on since March.
Can't wait till I get my new ISP.
When I had comcast, they would die from 2am-5am 2-3 times a week. They would always say it was to repair a damaged node, but it went on for over a year.
their node for our fibre connection is constantly dying
even at the times where no one is using it i can't even bust past 70mbps when i'm paying for 100mbps
tie that during the day with latency issues and packet loss when everyone is on it it's very unuseable
also i installed server 2012 r2 onto my athlon
worthit.png
For me, when they worked, they worked pretty well, but they rarely actually worked. I paid for 50 mbps, and rarely ever broke 25. Packet loss and ping was always spot on though. But downtime was often, speeds were never as expected, and I was actually insulted by customer service a few times when I called. My account had an issue because I self-installed my modem/router, and they straight up told me I couldn't have possibly done that because I couldn't have known how. The only way I ended up fixing my account was by having them send a tech out to verify that my modem was indeed plugged in, and that cost me $200.
Now I have qwest, and my speed is 1.5mbps. Packet loss is usually around 50%, and my ping is rarely under 200. I have very mixed feelings because while this sucks, it's not comcast, and I'm very thankful for that.
It's like they treated you like you were stupid or something.
Kinda shitty. Hopefully you can find someone else that's better.
They did treat me like I was stupid. But they were the only viable option in my area, so I just dealt with it. The worst part is, Google Fiber was coming to that area, and I just moved to a location where they have almost no chance of arriving. It sucks, but at least I don't have a data cap (sorry, data allowance) here. Too bad it takes me almost a day to download a game.
That's shit, even TWC will only charge for a visit if it's shown you were the cause of the issue.
That's shit, even TWC will only charge for a visit if it's shown you were the cause of the issue.
I fought the payment for a while, but I eventually conceded, and used my IRS refund to pay it off, closed my account, and moved. Hopefully I never have to deal with comcast again. I've had literally 0 positive experiences with them.
jesus fucking christ
So I download the Civ V SDK, and it starts installing dependencies, blah blah. But dependency 3 of 3, .NET 3.5, just goes forever. So I kill the process thinking "ok, it's stalled, I probably have it anyway".
The SDK doesn't start, which pokes a hole in my "I already have it" theory, so I run the installer to figure out why it's stalling, because maybe it's a wine bug...nope. The installer was trying to download 320MB of shit (for reference I'm stuck on DSL at the moment)
well no fucking wonder :v:

Yeah. Overclocking is cool(not really :v:) and all but I prefer to keep my room at a liveable temperature.
Why didn't anyone tell me chromecasts were so cool

if you are gonna desolder those without a socket, then consider slapping a quality socket in their place and then put the chips in those.
will save you the hassle if you encounter more dead chips.
Yay! Mikrotik is finally going to release some AC routerboards with cases.

And they're upgrading the RB2011 as well, though no dual band AC there until they come out with a miniPCIe card for that. Since I don't really need the performance, I'll probably just stick with my RB2011UIAS-2HND-IN as a wired router and use an hAP AC as an access point.

I'm looking forward to some cheap-ass AC stuff with a decent OS.

I thought tweezers were the proper tool for this
