Honestly, I'm more confused on why everyone still supports McIntosh.
Sarkeesian is your typical Tumblr-grade feminist, with the notable exception being she's actually done her homework on the actual "feminism" bit of that (not on video games, no, but she'll rarely say some shit about general stuff like wage gaps and it will make sense). McIntosh on the other hand is quite clearly a fuckboy who's only involved in this to get in Sarkeesian's pants, and I have no idea why nobody but me notices this shit.
I only know about this person because of how defensive people get over her opinion of videogames.
I'm gonna be honest. I don't get how people can be so offended by the stuff she says. I read something here and there from her and it's nowhere near as shit as the stuff i've seen people post on 4chan for example, but nobody cares about that I guess.
/g/ in particular is terrible right now.
Just mention the Rust programming language, and you can singlehandedly trash an entire thread.

first example i pulled out of my ass, and besides, i think most of what makes the gap not so gappy is more the general corporate executive mentality of "If it's not going directly into our pockets it's wasted money!" than any real progressiveness in society.
but that doesn't defeat my real point: it's not the actual feminism that concerns me about Sarkeesian, it's how she applies it to video games (interestingly, has she ever said anything about high amounts of violence in other art forms?)

I don't want to enter this discussion but the wage gap is not about differences in wage between men and women doing the same job. The problem with the wage gap is that women tend to work lower paying jobs, and therefore collectively receive a lower wage. You aren't supposed to control for different factors, because those factors are the relevant thing.
There's already SBCs with Exynos SoCs available on them, though.

I meant as in software, not hardware.
Seems like the U3 is stuck on 3.8 because of that.

Dude you're pulling a video from Prager "University" - I'm not saying the wage gap is as big as some people make it out to be, but the word "biased" doesn't even cover Prager properly.

Well the video is by Christina Hoff Sommers for Prager University, other than that she doesn't have much at all to do with Prager University.

Could even solder a switch in series so you could easily reactivate the beep if wanted.
Today I learned that trying to get vlans to pass traffic between a cisco router with sub interfaces and an ubiquiti switch is the worst. Also that ubiquiti switches are louder than my 1u server.

have you even watched the american version? i don't care who it is, if your commentary is stale giggles and potshots like "oh what a tosser", you're not very funny. i'm sure he's excellent, but not on MXC he isn't...

Okay go home with all the SJ debates TYVM.
Just got home from day 1 of being a video editor.
1) previous video editor has some of the worst organization on the planet. Just can't overstate that enough.
2) The videos are quite easy to make.
3) Everyone is basically using company sanctioned pirated software, so guess I won't be using Creative Cloud at work.
I still mostly enjoyed my first day, I didn't quite have enough to do so I just browsed our channel and read some analytics and looked for things to improve.

Let me guess, all resources are dumped into the same folder with no subfolders, naming conventions are all over the place and there's crap on the timeline from dragging and dropping footage onto the timeline, then cutting it up for the edit?

It's worse than that, but I'm honestly too tired to go into detail.
2 USB portable harddrives, a USB 2.0 dock with two harddrives all with the footage on them. Some are marked by year some are "joe bday final v9" type stuff. Somtimes assets are in a large main folder, sometimes those assets are in the project folder. Sometimes projects are on the desktop sometimes they aren't.
I did that at my last job after they started playing musical chairs with CC licenses and staff, half the time they would have forgotten to pay the subscription and all the legit copies would not run.
It's a shame really, because half the programs on my computer at work don't function properly. I plan on getting a CC license for myself, but I don't want to use that at work. I was talking to one of the guys and he said, what happens if the files don't work on other people's computers, which is an annoying but fair point. So I'm planning on formatting the machine, install whatever they tell me to, and redoing all the folders and organization how I like to do it.
Project files
Video Assets
Audio Assets
Image Assets
Then an archive folder where I lay out the finished projects by year, tour, etc. Might not be perfect, but it took us like an hour to find a project the guy did last week.
I enjoyed my time there today so I don't want to be all negative, but suffice to say I hope to improve the workflow of at least myself and anyone who works with me.

Alright CIP, I need some advice on routers. One of the hard drives in my PFSense box died, so I've got 2 options.
1. Use a spare hard drive I have to just reinstall PFSense
2. I've got a Mikrotik RB450G that work gave me sitting on my desk
Which to do?

Also I don't know if I mentioned it, but the job is at a record label, and I get to see and... be the evil corporation on the other side of those copyright strikes. And I gotta tell you, they are pretty reasonable people. But if you upload an entire album from the CD... naw... naw man. u ded.
So i'm going through all of YT and making up a spreadsheet of videos to take care later. We need to have a meeting and all that before we do anything.

At least your company does it themselves and not contracts out to a shady "company" with just an aol email address.

Well turns out it did boot up but I'm apparently to young to know that adjusting monitor clock is a thing. So it took about an hour before I realized that the picture was there, it was just a mess of pixels that needed a bit of sorting.
Is there any visualization software that lets you play games in them GPU accelerated?
Is there any visualization software that lets you play games in them GPU accelerated?
i think virtualbox supports GPU passthrough but it requires some serious whatdafuck to get to work so I couldn't tell you for sure
i think virtualbox supports GPU passthrough but it requires some serious whatdafuck to get to work so I couldn't tell you for sure
Your processor needs to support VT-d, you must be running Linux as the host system, your kernel must support IOMMU, along with your hardware supporting it. You must also have a second GPU, obviously. I think that's the basic requirements.
https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch09.html#pcipassthrough
It seems like a really big hassle just to play some games. You might as well just dual boot.
Is there any visualization software that lets you play games in them GPU accelerated?
Besides VT-d as mentioned above, both VMware and VirtualBox (no idea about the others) have some support for 3D acceleration. However, in both cases you need to increase VRAM size in a config file I believe (and even then it's very limited), and this acceleration is still pretty slow, so you're not gonna be able to play modern games that way.

I think the newest game I ever played and found playable was Halo: CE using that method. But yeah, if your going to be playing anything in the past 10 years or so, you might as well run it native. Fortunately, games made in the past 10 years aren't going to have major issues with modern OS's.
