Use HP's bios password policy
between 8 and 16 characters
at least one of a-z or _
at least one of A-Z
at least one of 0-9
at least one symbol that is not one of #!?=<>|()[]{}$%&£@/\*.,:;^~"' or space
(also, they force you to change it every login)
I went a step further and went 24.
Also updated cloudflares firewall rules to block the IP mentioned. Hopefully it can come back up. :(
No no, you can't do that! Are you mad?
I got yelled at by Microsoft's Support representative when I told them that my regular password is 27 symbols ANSI, because OF COURSE I should have know that the password system rejects anything non-ASCII or that is longer than 16 characters.

The tenant portal for my soon-to-be-former apartment breaks on any non-alphanumeric characters in your password. Seriously.
Two days until move-out.
Guess what. It's still under attack. Killing the droplet need a new IP :(
Uh, by the sound of it, your VPS is the one doing the attacking?
Aight so the previousthreads will be down until tomorrow morning my time where I will begin to properly secure it. Lesson learned from my own mistakes.
Sorry guys. I will also try and get the previousthreads to look a bit nicer when it returns. Hopefully tomorrow.
host the html file on dropbox in the mean time?
It's a Chinese botnet that's requesting a fuck load of outgoing traffic on every single port. It was compromised somehow and I'm quite sad that it's happened. So by tomorrow I'll be locking it down.
Quite annoyed because as soon as I moved to Digital Ocean I started having major issues.
That looks all difficult and I'm not really gonna want to fiddle with an expensive DSLR. It's tempting but I don't really want to consider that.
Stick to the normal release and ignore the nightlies.
I have had Magic Lantern loaded on my 60D for a long time. Over 4 fucking years infact. Only time I had problems were due to bad memory cards or battery suddenly going bad.
what? the 5d series spits out amazing video
there's really no point in not getting a 5d unless you're going black magic or even red
DSLR's spit out pretty video, but not great video. And even then you're using the DSLR most of the time ONLY for it's video quality. They are small, cumbersome, photo lenses don't rack well, don't have many mounting points, you need a bunch of gadgets to use them well, and you often don't have many software features needed for video.
The advantage is that big fat sensor which can throw out 1080p-ish video at even up to 6400ISO depending on the model.

RIP T100 digitizer.
Only the center if the screen responds to touch now. Fortunately it still works just fine as a laptop, but I really have to get this fixed.
Today is a good day!
There are some phones that are so thin that they ditch the 3.5mm jack
a 3.5 mm jack is a fine measurement for how thick a phone should be

Oppo R5 is the latest one I believe.

Go to 1:20, it comes with a microUSB to 3.5mm jack :v:
Remember that fad about 10 years ago where they tried selling stupid tiny phones?

Yeah, I feel we came full circle, except now we want the fuckers thinner instead of smaller.

Oh and the Sony FS700 outputs better, cleaner low light video than a DSLR, and it doesn't look soft or a heap of shit.

This is the biggest pile of bullshit I have ever heard about video resolution
This guy's saying the camera "doesn't capture 1080P" because the video quality isn't as sharp as the GH4 lmao

there's a really weird circlejerk kind of like "i paid a couple thousand dollars for this gear, it's better than everything else and don't say it sucks or i will be pissed"
Hell BNC is way easier to work with, especially if you use RG174 or similar. Much thinner than HDMI and it locks in place, so no accidentally pulling it out.
And the signal doesn't degrade after like 10 meters or whatever it was in HDMI cable length.

Everytime I see Canon announce a new DSLR, there's always a wave of amatures spewing shit along the lines of "wow what a shit camera because it doesn't record videos 8k resolution @ 1000fps, Canon's going downhill". Hmmm I wonder why Canon's not including those high end video features, is it MAYBE because these are meant to be STILL cameras?????
People really can't seem to get that point across their mind.

i feel like dslr video has it's place but if you're looking to get ultra hd/high fps there's no reason to get a dslr

The way I see it is DSLR's video feature is just there to accomodate casual uses. You shouldn't even be getting a DSLR if you're planning to use it for serious filming in the first place.

Yes. This.
It's a fucking DIGITAL CAMERA. Not a proper video capture device. It's always has been and always will be for STILL IMAGES. Why do you think you can't really record video without reflashing your camera to a third party firmware? Believe me, it's not because Canon wants to tier their products that desperately.
If you want video, get a proper camera. The price is gonna suck for the body alone (my AG-DVX100B was $350 and it's still strictly an SD camera and that's just a 10 year old prosumer camera. I have seen Betacam SP heads without a lens for $500.) but you won't be griping about what it gives you.
