i really want a new pc but i hate the idea of building one
Except for the damn push pins.
what push pins?
i dont like vlc because of the color grading or whatever it does

It's doing some bad RGB conversion from studio to PC I believe.
But in any case, VLC is terrible for video quality, more for reliability.
its very fun
i don't know it seems like there's a lot of stuff you have to deal with and watch out for, not sure about doing that
and also it's impossible to get a good case. i don't give a shit about seeing in to my computer. i want something subtle smooth and convienient, not big and bulky with xXKewLgAmErliGHtZXx

24 pin kills thumbs.
i really just want an imac that doesn't cost a lot

I'm baffled as to why VLC still has this on by default, but hey.

If they manufactured the thick unibody iMacs again and sold them for a bit lower than the slim unibody iMacs, then I'd have no issues with that. Hell maybe a smaller screen size would do okay for some people.

why can't they do that with a way to take the back off and slip your own stuff in? the right imac these days is still great, at least to me. i like a computer on the desk and it has two thunderbolt ports to have two other monitors with. fuck, it would be a lot more attainable to me if they did that and made it so the user could upgrade the ram.

i still have issues with the regular pc form factor. i shouldn't have a bunch of cables and a huge object on the floor by my feet. i need that space, it needs to look clean
this isn't some kind of elitism -- a cluttered space eventually all comes to a head and stresses me the fuck out to the point where i can't get any work done. i do all of my school on a computer, it's important to keep shit clean

It's a damn shame though that pretty much no other case manufacturer is bothering with Thunderbolt support. These days it's pretty much go with Apple's hardware for Thunderbolt support or go bust.
Thunderbolt 3 on the other hand being compatible with USB...that'll probably increase adoption greatly.

And yet for some stupid reason, VLC lags on every video I make it play but Windows Media Player works perfectly fine...

you know, i really, really like windows media player for a lot of things
it just doesn't work with those more obscure formats
My dad's birthday was a couple weeks ago, got him a used Dell Latitude E6320. Works pretty well, though it doesn't have an SSD. Tonight we marathoned a few episodes of The Wire.

I like KMPlayer.. before they added that stupid start up banner thingy that had ads that you had to do some stuff with the host file to turn off or something like that.
opera is really fucking slow for whatever reason now so i'm back to firefox
you know, firefox is still the fastest browser i've used.

it's kind of tempting to just save up enough and get the 21.5 inch imac that has the nvidia card instead of intel iris pro

Then just like tradition they will abandon the interface just as it universally becomes adopted in favor of some new gimmick interface.

Media Player Classic is worth a go, I haven't made up my mind whether its just a /g/ meme or if its actually better than VLC yet though.
I've been using MPC with K-Lite codecs for as long as I can remember.
Switched to mpv because I'm on OSX, though.
its a webkit based browser...and it doesn't pig memory.
Never heard of that working out. WebKit browsers eventually become real hogs in my experience. Jumanji was the worst since it would start using gibibytes of memory on one tab and max out not one, but two cores. Anything else WebKit wasn't as bad, but still pretty bad. Firefox is the only one I know of where I can have twenty tabs, Steam, and a bunch of other software running simulataneously and not break 1GiB of usage.
ie always had the lowest memory footprint in my experience
It's so hard to find a proper flashlight app that uses the rear LED and not the LCD screen as the lighting source for Symbian... As in I still haven't found one that uses the LED flash..
ie always had the lowest memory footprint in my experience
Modern IE is a slob.
It also runs very fast... if you have less than five tabs.

I meant modern as in new, not ~Modern UI~

oh
well it's still better than chrome for me
and firefox is not an option because it doesn't play along with touch

NOVA X2M. Clean looking ITX case with no flash.
Found this on Twitter, apparently some commercial passenger airplanes now have chat rooms...
