Behold, my phoenix Surface: [t]http://i.imgur.com/dGn27m1.jpg[/t] Went to replace it because of a couple of issues: top left part of the touch screen would randomly stop working, there was a weird "heartbeat" noise in the audio jack, and the type cover trackpad wouldn't click on the left side sometimes. The first replacement they gave me had a bright spot on the screen. The second had a dead pixel. Then the guy gave up and just gave me a new boxed Surface. And I also replaced the type cover with a cool red version.
Something's wrong with your browser.
Seems SAE Facepunch breaks it. Which doesn't make sense since it doesn't change any styles. [editline]23rd June 2015[/editline] Oh it was Faceraper.
Media Player Classic is worth a go, I haven't made up my mind whether its just a /g/ meme or if its actually better than VLC yet though.
It is definitely better [sp]for some styles of content.[/sp] Disregarding the whole magic clusterfuck of tweaks you can do with the lav filters, it routinely produces clearer pictures. VLC has this weird habit of saturating an image, slightly blurring some codecs, and I vastly prefer the UI on MPC, and how it renders subtitles by default. They both have points that that they absolutely suck at though. 3D being a big one. Not that that particular gripe is relevant to 95% of the userbase.
I prefer MPC for sure with my ultrawide. I just have VLC for weird file types
I prefer MPC for sure with my ultrawide. I just have VLC for weird file types
I use MPC for most video, VLC is only for playing Blu-Rays because MPC couldn't do that last time I checked. Oh, and VLC can stream to an Apple sound system, with enough hacks.
My new Sound Blaster AWE 64 Gold arrived today, but the drivers requires protected mode, and I'm running on an 80286 without it. So I'm forced to run a software 386 emulator which translates the missing opcodes into multiple instructions that my 286 can understand. There's a performance hit every time it has to translate a foreign instruction, but software which is compiled for the 286 still runs at full speed.
Why do you think I told you to get a SB16, fool? AWE64 was established well into the era of Protected Mode and nobody dared look back by that point because well....unprotected DOS is complete shit.
hey inacio, how do you get the double column layout back
Either this computer has too much crap running or everything runs faster on a faster GHz dual core than it does on a slower GHz quad core... Or stuff like Chrome and everything else only uses 1 core on the processor for stuff.
Hi. I just got out of hospital. AMA.
but you didn't deny about the dragon dildo :o
Lewd
Nope! I have no idea how you had the balls to share that, to be honest.
Having your lower body exposed in front of so many doctors and nurses can easily remove any shame and embarrassment about it (or did for me). Then again, I took it with humor from the very beginning, and so did the nurses. It made for some great stories and it also allowed me to post my ass on FP (again ;) ) for good FP tradition.
FUCKING. ACER. So my tablet has this HID Monitor thing. Guess what it does on Windows 10? it INFINITELY SPAWNS ITSELF. It's LITERALLY A FORK BOMB So? what did I do? Powershell: Get-Process -name 'hidmonitor' | Stop-Process -Force. But that didn't fix the problem that just kept slwoing the rate of decay of the system, and made the system usable long enough to nuke the executable and restart the system, then properly uninstall.
ACER
There's your problem.
The specifics are... embarrassing so I'd rather not say that but my god the most pain I've ever had in my entire life.
I'm really curious now.
There's your problem.
Honest to god this is the first time I've ever had a real problem with my tablet like this. It's really weird.
