Honest to god this is the first time I've ever had a real problem with my tablet like this. It's really weird.
Honestly, most of the issues I had when repairing Acer devices were because of shitty drivers. Then again, this was back in 2009 for the most part. I don't know if it got better but I still cling on to my negative view of Acer.
I really want a new laptop. My netbook is on its last legs, has no keyboard and is being cooled by this sat on the top and powered from a USB port because the fan only spins when it feels like it.

That said, I still wouldn't recommend them outside of a few certain models.
Apparently in Windows 8, they removed the DVD Maker... That's annoying because I'm trying to make a DVD right now and finding a third party solution is annoying.
ImgBurn.
got a hold of an old kindle fire hd, thinking about rooting it how easy is it to sideload files? not saying the files are copywritten, i just have some stuff i've made and it's easy to show people on a tablet
That's the android thing, right? Amazon's proprietary devices just act as USB sticks when you plug 'em in. No idea about the Fire.
ImgBurn.
Doesn't seem to transcode a video file into a video DVD where it's playable on a DVD player. I ended up using Windows DVD Maker on Windows 7.
can somebody with ie ctrl+click on a link and tell me what that does because i swear it used to open things in a background tab but it opens them in foreground on my new surface and i am confused
can somebody with ie ctrl+click on a link and tell me what that does because i swear it used to open things in a background tab but it opens them in foreground on my new surface and i am confused
Opens link in new Tab without switching to it.
Opens link in new Tab without switching to it.
weird, because for some reason here i need to do ctrl-shift-click to do that what is going on
Nope. Nothing related to butts.
Did you tear open / break something down below? :v:
unchecking "always switch to new tabs when they are created" helped why that was checked in the first place will remain a mystery
Coming back to the NodeJS discussion earlier. I don't like NodeJS being used on the Desktop, but I actually enjoy using the Atom editor, which for quite some time now actually performes pretty good. I'm conflicted by it a bit.
Still a poor mans Sublime.
Which is just vim for babies.
I mainly use Atom over sublime because it's actually a FLOSS clone of Sublime Text. Haven't had any problems with the HTML, LESS, CoffeeScript layer as of yet. Been using it since it's first Windows version came out, which I compiled myself and was barely working. Seeing it evolve was actually really interesting and how they overcome the issues at hand is really impressive. They ironed out most issues people have, especially the 2mb file limit.
Vim is pretty great.
I've only used Vim once and it just confused me. I'm sure I could quickly get used to it though.
I like notepad++
do you guys know how i can get cyanogen mod running on this kindle fire? the installer doesn't support it
I prefer to dictate my code to my secretary
I use vim a lot, especially on Linux, but I'm still a very mouse oriented user, and vim's mouse support is not really that good IMO
I used to use Nano until I was introduced to Sublime Text by you guys. Now I just need to learn how to code anything half decent.
I suffer vim/viphobia. They only command I know and want to know is how to turn the damn thing off.
i panicked since ctrl+c/z didn't work, and i had to look up a guide, it was like the first search result haven't started it since
I tried both VI/VIM and Emacs and learned both to the point where I know most major keymaps and worked with them for quite some time and I can safely say that I enjoy editors like Sublime text a lot more. Sure these have a lot of power behind them and you can do some magic, but I never really touched those and probably won't, and I feel a lot more productive when have an editor with good mouse support that does not expect the user to master 150 keymaps to correctly use the text editor.
no it makes perfect sense, paste is "p" in normal mode and following the clear pattern of using the first letter of the command, copy is, as expected, the "y" key. [editline]23rd June 2015[/editline] and you also need to put shit in your .vimrc to actually have access to system's clipboard
IIRC Y is for Yank
My favourite source of legal advice is Youtube comments
Even if you make the pitch a note higher than the original the copyright doesn't exist because TECHNICALLY they didn't make it. :)
When I'm working locally I tend to prefer graphical editors (CodeRunner is excellent for a lot of languages, Sublime Text for whatever else), but Vi/Vim is indispensable for remote work I have to do on Linux servers. A lot of my uni work has to work on their servers (i.e. web servers/sites, programs/scripts that have to be compatible on their version of Linux) so being able to SSH in and use Vim to edit everything remotely makes it really worth knowing.
I'm using Sublime while waiting for Limetext to get a working front-end. Other than that, I tend to use IDEs that match the language I'm using (Free JetBrains catalogue for students, hell yes).
If I suffer from Amblyopia would I be able to use VR headsets and the like? My brain suppresses signals from my left eye so I don't pick up any details and don't really use it.
My first and last encounter with vim is when I play around with my OpenWrt PC router. Then I quickly install nano instead
