If you all saw the network at work you would fucking cry.
You would fucking cry.
I'll have to take a picture for you.
I never added SourceForge to my adblock lists, and yet...
[t]http://jesusfuck.me/di/B75P/sourceforge.png[/t]
(how late am I?)
SourceForge was added to one of the default block lists in uBlock ages ago, for serving malware.
People are getting the update in stages because of how the list updates work.
So I bought a surface pro 3 the other day off eBay, it was basically brand new. The i5 with 8gb ram variant for $830. I received it today and it turns out its the i7 version instead. Neat
I caved and got 16 GB of RAM today. I actually found out that Newegg's Canadian site had it for a bit cheaper than Memory Express, so I price matched and put the savings towards 4-year in-store replacement in the event it goes FUBAR for the convenience of just driving back there instead of back and forthing with G.Skill.
I'll either put it in later today (Friday) or tomorrow.
Interesting question:
Is there a program that can batch resize images into several sizes? I need to make about 50 icon sets, with each set having a 32px, 64px, and 128px size and I'd really rather not resize each icon individually.
Slightly late but I always use Irfanview's batch converter
Tick "use advanced options" and set the scaling options in the advanced menu. Also tick "Use resample function" or the output will look sorta shitty
If you select "Include subdirectories" on the main screen and "Create subfolders in destination" on the advanced menu, you can even keep the original structure intact

YouTube's been pulling some weird shit on me lately
This had somehow lodged itself into my recent watch history:

What the actual fuck is this supposed to be and what makes youtube think I've watched it?
Anime dubstep animated music video? Are you fucking serious? :v:
I would change password, paul simon. :v:

A page you ended up on probably embedded a hidden youtube video for background music
Probably some teenage girl's Tumblr, because they just fucking LOVE autoplaying music with no way to turn it off
Mine right now consists mostly about TopGear and Vinesauce videos.

I'm inclined to believe it might have something to do with that new and stupid autoplay feature that plays related videos.
I might've left a tab open while not paying attention or something. (though tbh I can't possibly understand what relates to that... well, then again youtube isn't very good at finding relevant videos always)

Every time I see this image it makes me feel embaressed that most, if not all the software on my PC is free and also open source. Seriously only Windows, Steam and my AV come to mind. I'm a tight got who only really wants to splash out on video games.

good thing the rest of us are competent and realize that open source is a concept that only works in software
Just to voice my opinion a bit about the subject matter:
Open Source things are good and all, I mean I view it as a charity and a way to engage a community in building something.
But enforcing it? No, I don't agree with that. The unyielding open source mentality some people have is silly. (some even reach the level of loony)
I believe you should be able to sell games and programs, and having them open source sort of defeats the purpose when you want to do that.
In the end I don't give a crap whether or not any of my stuff is open source. Whatever is on top of google searches whenever I need a program is usually my go-to :v:

Well that is part of the joke
I'm a fucking sucker for windows anything. I don't know why. I just love Microsoft for some reason.
That said I find the xboner to be a pile of garbage, but I feel that way about most consoles.
[editline]26th June 2015[/editline]
Basically what I'm saying is, I love a clean, polished product (closed source) over a hackjob like most open source software is.
Obviously there's good and bad examples in both categories.
Hard to find a better streaming / recording program than OBS, which is open source
Hard to find a better photo editing program than Photoshop, which is closed source
Generally, closed source programs tend to have funding and room for larger budgets, and thus more research and development which results in a better end product. But not always
Most non user-facing FOSS will do a better job than their proprietary counterparts, but if its got a UI, its going to suck shit. Developers can not design.
Just look at KDE, you seriously have people who think that looks fine.
Still more usable than Gnome in it's current state.
KDE looks like shit and Gnome handles like shit.
Gonna put my hopes into LXQT
I can't use programs without UIs
They never come with proper readmes. Fuck that shit :v:
How hard is it to make simple user interfaces anyways?
I use a lot of open source software, because it works.
You need to do something, you find a program you need, you tell your package manager to install it, 30 seconds later you're doing what you need to do.

It may not be the best looker, but they laid it out pretty much like Windows out of the box, and KDE isn't in the habit of removing basic features and telling people who were using them to go fuck themselves, so it doesn't actually suck at all (except in appearance but that can be changed)
I want to ask about all the alien words you guys are using but at this stage I'm starting to wonder what I'm even doing in this conversation
So I told the guy I'm working for over the summer that he can't expect me to keep using my own hardware, since my laptop is a bit too weak to run Android Studio.
So he got me a NUC. I love this thing! It's so tiny and cute, and it's a real fucking powerhouse for what it is.
Oh boy you've just started a whole lotta shit.
Richard Stallman is going to be banging on your door and he'll start monologuing about how anything closed source is literally Hitler and how FOSS is literally the best thing since sliced bread. Do you really want to go that route Tmaxx?
Nothing that's any good ever came out of open source.
Nothing that's any good ever came out of open source.
That post was made from an open source operating system.
The core might be but the Touchjizz ROM certainly isn't
Good question, maybe I should get around to 420 rooting it
My parents think that magicians have demonic powers that they use to actually perform their tricks.
I have no idea how I share genes with these people.
Well that is me finished college, now to find an IT job with a bit of luck.
