I'll forget what I had open if I do that.
Hibernate, then?
Hibernate, then?
Make sure to disable hybrid sleep in the power options, or else you won't get separate sleep and hibernate functions.
Also, to get the "hibernate" option in your shutdown menu, it has to be checked in the power settings, the same place where you change what your power button should do.
If anyone has to put up with Wingless getting frustrated over designing a packet data system, I'm sorry.
Hibernate, then?
Ok, I'll try that.
Hibernating is actually faster than a normal cold-boot in most cases in my experience. I almost always use hibernate with my desktop.
My PC keeps going out of stand by for no reason, how do stop from doing that? It keeps me awake.
powercfg /lastwake Use this to figure out what's waking your PC.
reposting from the windows 10 thread does anyone know why my start menu doesn't show up at all? it started happening after killing explorer.exe and restarting it. after installing all the updates it didn't help anything.

I restarted my PC, played with my cat and made myself something to eat and some coffee and displayfusion hadn't started yet. My main HDD is a Seagate 3TB thing. Otherwise okay but after a while my OS gets a bit bloated and starts up for a long long time.
Turned a option of in it? If you did open thing to change your background go to start there and enable the second option saying something like "Save and display recently opened programs in Start".
Yep, it was either 'Show the recently added apps group' or 'Store and display recently opened programs in Start'. I turned them both on then back off and the start menu worked again.
Windows 7: Start menu Windows 8: Start screen Windows 10: NOTHING
They're just a myth, nobody would actually buy a laptop that expensive
It's true, I've been hallucinating this entire time.
Just bought a Minitel, kitchen computer anybody?
Aren't minitels just dumb terminals to the french teletext system? Bit hard to set up a server for that, I'd imagine.
Aren't minitels just dumb terminals to the french teletext system? Bit hard to set up a server for that, I'd imagine.
They have a little DIN socket at the back which you can use as a standard serial connection
Neat.
It can be adapted to act as a standard serial terminal with a few resistors to drop it from 5v TTL logic to 3.3v I can have it hooked up to my home server or a Raspberry Pi. I've just got mine running a Windward server...

It'd be cool to tie it into a home automation system and use that for controlling whatever like in Fallout
It'd be cool to tie it into a home automation system and use that for controlling whatever like in Fallout
About as secure as the stuff in Fallout then!
I wonder how much effort it would be to give one of those WiFi telnet access with an ESP8266 module.
Its going to sit on the worktop in the corner of my kitchen displaying weather forecasts, news, my email and my work calendar.
you better make it all look teletext as fuck
Is there anything of it, i can remove with good conscience, and know my machine is still gonna work?
Disk Cleanup will allow you to safely remove old restore points and shadow copies. Basically, all of them up until the most recent one created.
I get paid next weekend, then finally 980 Ti time. last night we launched a new webseries and a new album and a bunch of other things. Crunchtime for the video person so far is decent. Helps I'm used to crunchtime when it comes to video work. Someone got fired a few days ago for punching a wall during a stressful conversation with management. But besides that everyone is remarkably cool to work with. Since I can make my own graphics for videos I can be isolated in my workflow for the most part, sometimes I need an album cover or something though. I would really love if we could get a solid network overhaul and a central fileserver so we can put all organized assets on there. Like rips from our blurays, photos, logos, thumbnails, all that stuff so anyone can pull from it. Right now whenever I need something someone else has I have to get my flashdrive and have them put it on it, or we email it to each other. it's really slow.
Also we're using like an ASUS AC2400nighthawk thing as just an AP, we're using comcast's modem as the gateway :911:
It's only monochrome with 64 shades of grey, but especially for the weather software I'll be displaying big blocky cloud icons :v: [editline]27th June 2015[/editline] Ceefax was the shit.
Pff. At least our teletext service is still on-line. It even has a web version! For the technically literate luddites out there.
Got smooth in-browser HD video working on the Pi 2. Awesome. It has a heart attack if you do anything on the page while it's playing though :v:
what kind of adobe apps can i get running on this thing obviously not cs6 or any video editing software but older photoshop would be nice
