A decent NVidia card and 16gb will handle the CC suite really well.

Basically AMD doesn't have CUDA and the Adobe apps use it for acceleration and rendering. Pretty much all nVidia cards have CUDA so it just depends on how much you want to spend and how much power you need. A GTX 960/970 would probably be your best bet. [editline]27th June 2015[/editline] Sorry that's still not a really good explanation. Someone help me out here.

Cuda is a GPU processing... system. Adobe adopted it early on because OpenCL hadn't really gone anywhere yet. And you don't need a high end GPU to use it. a 750 Ti or something simple will be just as good as a Titan X during editing, regardless of what people say. often they say they got themselves a titan for their super important editing, only for that Titan to only play a role in decoding and some minor effects. Anything advanced runs on the CPU anyways. [editline]27th June 2015[/editline] And SLI is a gaming thing, has no influence on GPU accelerated programs in the vast majority of situations. That's even if those programs could use more than one GPU, typically they use only one, but if they did use more than one, it's not via SLI.
hmm, thanks an editing pc should be able to play games pretty well, right? like i said, i don't play a lot of new games, but when one comes out that i want to play, i want to be able to play it at a nice resolution and smoothly. i'd also like to be able to emulate ps2 and wii/gamecube (it's one emulator, dolphin)
There's this page that shows you the best parts to spend your money on for any given amount of money, can't remember what it it's called (someone in here definitely does) but that would probably help you out.

No idea.
Emulation is mainly CPU-intensive, I think. Maybe get an i7 4770 or 4790K. You're encoding video so you can benefit from the hyper threading as well (Emulators and games don't usually get a benefit / difference)

That team is beastly when it comes to finding new ways to exploit the hardware.
how much was this budget for? im midly awake and i can whip up a list in a few minutes [editline]28th June 2015[/editline] also any specific things?
i'm not sure yet about the budget, but i can list off some stuff i want and could tell you what i don't care about as much if it ends up costing too much -lots of usb 3.0 ports -support for two or three monitors -16 gb of ram, i'd like the motherboard to max out at more, though, in case i need to upgrade -a quad core intel cpu (this is priority because i heard they were a pain to upgrade -- if i have to cheap out on stuff i'd rather have it be on stuff that i can easily switch out when i get more money) -good blu-ray drive -how easy is it to upgrade a power supply? if it's a pain, a future proof power supply -room for a few hard drives -- i'd like to have one or two for storage, and a sizeable SSD to install windows and applications that benefit from the speed on to -i don't have my copy of windows anymore, i'd have to get a new one case wise, i want whatever is easy to work inside, both for the initial build and upgrading. one time i saw something in the basic shape of a printer, said to prevent gpu sag and fit on a desk better -- is something like that worth it?
the same one garry made a blog post about a few years back?
http://www.logicalincrements.com/
ouch, that price think we could go down to an i5? maybe a less powerful video card for now? i don't need an ssd, that can come later, maybe only a 1tb HD for now, as well. 8 gigs of ram is also fine until i upgrade. i really am strapped for cash, upgradability is important -- also if i could get everything in amazon links since i can get everything shipped on prime. keep in mind, i know when once a year or so i get a large sum of money (it's weird, don't ask) so i'm thinking that every year about then i can get a nice upgrade to it -- it's not necessarily an "i don't even know when *shrug*" type of thing
Give a budget that we can work with then. 500? 700?
i needed to know this otherwise im just gonna look for the best value changing it up now
960, if it works out. not sure about it though.
Don't you just hate it when you buy a product, there's a URL to download the software for it on a piece of paper as part of the inside contents of the packaging and the URL is invalid on their website? Damn it Logitech.
i also need a wifi card :v:

Heh, the fast scrolling on logitech mice is pretty cool. Makes scrolling suck less and fast.
