Hnnnnngggg this is gonna feel so good now that Windows won't kick and scream that much (if at all anymore) and DWM isn't going to go down burning in flames (irrevocably if I decide to jump to Win10 after the month 1 issues are sorted)

My work has the 840 EVO's on for a ridiculous price. I was thinking of grabbing one to RAID 1 with my 850 EVO.
Good idea? Last I saw the 840 EVO performed not as well as the 850.

Mine was on a large discount, and I was looking for ones with interchangeable cables because I always end up breaking the cable and then have to make some franken-cable out of other cables.
Though, the three (!!) cables that came with this pair are like twice the thickness of regular cables so I think they'll endure for quite a while.

what i like about using a laptop is that the coiled cable is not stretched at all so it's just on the desk next to me (despite hanging off in the above picture)

pdf is such an awful file format
pdf is such an awful file format
Agreed. The amount of proprietary extensions that don't follow the standard is insane.
Here's hoping that XPS takes off. Much nicer.

When used for simpler things it's fine.
It's when people want to use it for fancy things it goes bonkers.
Ironically it's the PDF reader programs that only support the lightweight features that are great.

On the topic of PDF's, what's the best PDF reader for Mac? The default one "Preview" and Adobe Reader are pretty slow in my opinion.

That's the kind of thing that makes Adobe PDF reader go tit's up.
Foxit reader or Sumatra PDF handles those better, but the problem is again that they're (your school) manhandling the PDF format.
