Really? Most 2014-2015 TV's at that price point have 3-4 HDMI ports. [editline]28th June 2015[/editline] Also Samsung tends to have a sea of shit models (and retail exclusive models) along with their good stuff. If I had a choice between cheap TV manufacturers being LG vs Samsung, I would by far go Samsung.
Spectre or bust. [editline]28th June 2015[/editline] Mergeee
God I wish. My local ISP now offers 300/5 for $250 though.
That upload is so bad.
That upload is so bad.
It's the best upload I can get in my area. It sucks.

My dad is looking to sell our house at the moment, I'll be checking with both ISPs that offer fiber in the area to see if they'll cover any places we consider. If we end up moving into a place that could only get cable again, I'd be really tempted to see if I can get a dedicated PTP link to the house. I'd totally be willing to pay for equipment and shit to not have to go with cable.
i'm actually in the market for a new, smaller tv to use as a monitor when i get a new pc built, and also to plug my laptop in to for now in addition to my original xbox (shackled to having one hooked up for SSX purposes) and PS3 :l
your freedom bucks do not exist in my country B)
You wish they did though. You're tired of your hobbit dollar value.
I get 100/10 with Comcast for a little under $50/month

God it feels so good being on my 50mbps connection now because all weekend I was tethering on 1 to 2 bars of 4g.
God it feels so good being on my 50mbps connection now because all weekend I was tethering on 1 to 2 bars of 4g.
I know that feeling, spent some time in in the middle of nowhere a while back trying to tether on gprs/occasional edge, had to set phone up at a certain height in one part of the house with a cereal box and the phone surrounded in tin foil to make a parabolic dish around it pointed in a certain direction to get that level of reception

Painful. Saddest thing is it was still faster than the ATT internet coming into the house.

But it wasn't permaworthy
I'm jealous of all your internet connections.
The only thing I'm jelly about is everyone's upload speeds. Mine can literally be described as "just a smidge better than dialup".
I got 50mbit down and 5 up, and I'm completely fine with that. My previous speeds were ~10 times slower and I still can't get used to how much faster this is. 60gb files to download? brb breakfast and I come back and it's almost done. And now since I switched to the most expensive Asus Router and CAT6 cables everywhere, my network is so much better. Very few small problems in the last 2 years, as opposed to weekly outages, router problems and Slow network speeds.
40 down and 1 up represent, not complaining though after years of being stuck on 6. Anyway, I built a dual screen setup this morning, two Samsung HDTVs (One I pinched off my brother that he doesn't use atm). Its not for PC use though, its for watching the entirety of the Wimbledon fortnight on one screen while I get on with shit on the other. I don't even have the connections to hook the two up simultaneously anyway. Had to put my main one as the Wimbledon screen as my Brothers set lacks the ability to decode DVB-T2 signals that carry the HD feed. The backlight on this thing sucks even calibrated but it will only be for two weeks.
That's like ultimate lazy. I envy you. I will happily trade my internet for 2 TVs watching the Wimbledon.
Well its not as easy as that, the HDTVs are both Samsung and it makes it very difficult to control one and not the other using the remote. I also had to find a 3.5mm jack to composite that had been misplaced somewhere to easily switch between the sound sources instead of physically changing the wire.
I'm sure I'll get a nice detailed explanation from someone, but I've never understood why ISPs offer "10:1" service when upload is what people use least. Surely they should be able to support symmetrical connections for everyone?

Plus the whole cable/DSL infrastructure is build more for bandwidth down than up.
most people only upload cat videos and pictures and they aren't even huge so why even give people high upload
Because speeds like 50/5 is fucking absurd
Because speeds like 50/5 is fucking absurd
50/5 is absurd? best you can get around here is 100/2 without paying out the ass / being lucky enough for fiber
why do tvs barely come with any hdmi ports i mean jesus christ my mom paid 1400$ for a nice tv from samsung (generally a good brand!) but if you want to have anything more than a cable box and roku player hooked up you're out of fucking luck
You buy an AV receiver.
Anyone have any idea how I can combine multiple stereo audio inputs into output at my desk? I want to be able to have two or three inputs that combine to one pair of headphones without using the microphone line in on my computer as its not always on. Hopefully something that i can adjust each volume separately with a knob as well as a master volume.
