i don't know how i feel about netflix. aside from the huge shows, netflix is a fucking wasteland
And this is why I don't yet bother with streaming TV shows and films, content all over the place that could be removed by the content owner at any moment. I stick to DVDs and Blu-Rays.
Ubiquiti's toughswitch GUI is also very simple, and shows everything in a fantastic way. [t]https://community.ubnt.com/ubnt/attachments/ubnt/ToughSwitch/3335/1/ts8-poe.png[/t] [editline]29th June 2015[/editline] Mergeee
itunes and amazon instant are decent, sometimes you just have to get a blu-ray tho it's always good to have a blu-ray player or ps3 on standby
iTunes limits what you can play them on (No VLC for me) and Amazon Instant will only allow a certain time before videos have to be authenticated and again doesn't appear to work with VLC. Its amazing how Valve have managed to conquer the whole DRM nobody cares about with Steam and nobody in any other form of entertainment has took the lead to create a similar platform.
Helpful stuff
This is where my lack of networking experience comes in. So I guess I didn't realize that there were more types of routers than just wireless routers. What exactly is the use of a non-wireless router that a switch couldn't handle by itself. I've only ever set up people's internet as modem+wireless router, and the only businesses I've added wifi to were running modem+switch and I just added a wireless router off of the switch.
Back from Glastonbury! Here's a picture from the late night fireshow. It's the best one I got. [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/bk0KpA5.jpg[/thumb] I forgot how clicky my keyboard was T_T

Like one you'd have in your computer. Its actually not terribly uncommon for people to put a pcie wireless card in a pfsense system to work as a wireless router. This is just separating it to an external wireless radio. (actually some routers are a router+internal switch+wireless radio)
Does nobody really have the waffle video? I feel like I've missed the happening of the century.
One of the flaws with the Ubiquiti UniFi stuff is that you need to have the software running on a computer / server. They should really rewrite the controller software to work with the Edgerouter or their security gateway. Even to some limited extent. Mikrotik's CAPsMAN is... alright... but it's acceptable since you can just throw it on pretty much any Mikrotik device.
is tracfone the cheapest possible way to get a cell in the united states of overpriced garbage
cheapest way is find someone willing to give you an old flip phone that takes a sim card and buy a prepaid card. do you not have a phone at all or are you looking for a burner? if just the latter there's an app you can use called burner that lets you buy a phone number for like $2 a month [editline]30th June 2015[/editline] or if you have an old smartphone that's sprint compatible, there's freedompop. they have a free plan that gives you 200 minutes of talk, 500 MB of data, and 500 text messages, or unlimited talk and text with 500mb of data for $7 a month

I don't know whether the box that shows up when you first connect is checked by default.
You control whether you want to share your password-protected network with your contacts using Wi-Fi Sense. You can share a network with just your Facebook friends, mutual Skype contacts, or mutual Outlook.com contacts, or with all three groups if you want. It's up to you. After you share access to a network with a group of contacts, all the contacts in that group will be able to connect to the network when it's in range. For example, if you choose to share with your Facebook friends, any of your Facebook friends who are using Wi-Fi Sense on a Windows Phone will be able to connect to the network you shared when it's in range. You can't pick and choose individual contacts.
You're saying their RouterOS isn't great? I tried their online demo and didn't hate it. [editline]29th June 2015[/editline] Actually it's not that great the more I play with it
It's not terrible by any means, but it's not nearly as good as ubiquiti's shit [editline]29th June 2015[/editline] Awful was a bit strong, but some things really frustrate me. It mainly has to do with managing huge networks with the dude though, not their normal program.
What the fuck. Why is my CPU hitting 80c? I have a hyper 212, I followed the thermal compound application by the book, the fan is plugged into the 3 pin connector so it's wide open. I don't fucking get it. Any help?

I need to figure out a way to stop my laptops i7 3610QM from throttling its self and hitting 80+ temps when using it to encode. Little annoying.
