I REALLY need to get a new access point :suicide:
I want to slap whoever decided we use this shitty cloud app prototype development tool thing
The 15 day trial expired, we get paywalled out of our work, I drop the $30 for a month of access, turns out that means 1 user only and they can't figure out how to use my login details, so they start another trial account and start remaking the entire thing (with half the features broken) on their own
Fuck group projects
Did you all see this?

A little icon on my taskbar showed the windows 10 icon, then it brings you to the windows update window and lets you "reserve it" somehow, didn't have to sign up or anything.

All I see on my Windows update is 65 important updates ready and 11 optional updates ready.
I'll let you know if that appears after I'm done installing these
Well my ThinkPad just invited me to Windows 10. I wonder if my Fizzbook says that on 7 Pro, too.
i come into work today and symantec endpoint protection manager is having 100 reads/writes a second to its database, and

oh boy, this is gonna be a long day isn't it
Guys quick give me a LOTR themed name for a computer
The Precious One?
The Shire - you never leave it unless there's a dire emergency
Was thinking Taters Precious if it's a horrible slow computer.

Spooky
I also get this every now and then on 8.1. Dunno why.
Is Win10 good enough to upgrade to it? Pros/cons compared to w7?
Should I also upgrade on my parents computers?
Dammit I just remembered I'm on a volume licensing copy of 7 Enterprise (from school) so probably no free Win10 for me
Found out that without Precision installed, my EVGA GTX 970's fan profile is fucking useless, easily hitting 80+ degrees and never once going above 1400RPM.
Finally changed that and now my temps, even in a mini ITX rig, top out at 65. Sounds like a vacuum for sure, though. It solved some of my freezing problems in Witcher 3, I think, anyway.

There's no need to me such a temperature wuss unless the freezes you were talking about actually was caused by it. Most CPUs and GPUs really don't mind being 80-90c...

It's hard to tell for sure since W3 isn't the staple of stability, but it does seem to be mitigated with the better fan profile. Plus it's stupid that the fan, by default, doesn't change speed one bit even going into 80+ degrees. Figured it at least would kick into 40-50% by then.
I don't know, my PC recently shut down instantly, presumably due to overheating. My top fans were running unusually hot, so I unplugged everything, gave it a clean, now everything runs at normal temps. Though the temps from before the crash showed it never went above 70?

Maybe it's an incorrect reading or the component that overheated was not documented.
So could my router be blocking my access to my modem's control panel? I know for a fact it's at 192.168.100.1 and my router is at 192.168.1.1 but when I try to get to the modem page it doesn't connect.

Why don't you directly connect to your modem to sort out the problems?

Pros compared to 7 (that are already in windows 8):
Lower minimum specs = faster and smoother
The Win+X shortcut
Better unified driver system
Changed start menu (subjective as fuck)
Safer and more standards-compliant default web browser
Pros compared to both 7 and 8:
Massively improved terminal support
Package Manager
Cortana (also, subjective)
Virtual Desktops
There are pretty much no cons. The underlying systems are the same, but slimmed down, which means compatibility is (as always when it comes to Microsoft) not an issue.
You forgot one thing.
oh yeah, the Windows 8 window manager is objectively better (if you ignore the subjective qualities of the start screen).
I made the jump to the W10 TP, amazing how it has evolved since I last tried it. Almost everything went without hiccups, only some software didn't like the upgrade but reinstall fixed it.
Actually, when doing the "check your PC" thing for the Windows 10 install, it seems that my Bluetooth radio is incompatible with W10. Odd, considering it's the normal Broadcom thing that's built onto the motherboard...
Guess its time to boot up my desktop.
Well Intel bought Altera and Avago bought Broadcom. Kinda interesting since neither of the bought companies directly compete/have to do with the buyer.
