It's the same card there is no difference
Really? Hmm. Might go with the XFX then. Besides,it'll look better than the MSI. Those red stripes on the MSI in a green case is a no-no.
Sorry for bump etc,but i'm going to buy the PSU soonish and I need to know for sure if 600w would be enough for that XFX 280x as well.
And how much better is that 280x over the 760?
Yes it will be, and the difference is setting on high vs setting on ultra with all the little things on as well
Wait
There are a lot of different Corsair CX600's...

That regular CX600 is not available anymore.
So which one should I pick?
[editline]27th June 2014[/editline]
Probably the Corsair Builder CX600 Bronze (which is listed as the V3 in the image for some reason) for €55. Is the ''Builder'' tag anything special?
[editline]27th June 2014[/editline]
Also,is the 280x Black Edition worth the ~€30 extra over the Double Dissipation?
Sorry for the bump (again) but I posted in the Steamchat that I was going to get the XFX 280x Black Edition. Then everyone exploded because they are apparently really unreliable except for their 6xxx cards or something.
Now I got my eye on the Gigabyte 280x (which is even €10 cheaper than the XFX Black Edition!). Is it a good card? And do I need more than 600W because of the 3 fans? If so,fuck because I already bought that CX600 Bronze.
Never heard a single person complain about their reliability. And you'll still be good.
Can't find any complaits about XFX on Google either so i'm calling BS on the Steam chat people.
But still, does having a motherboard and GPU both by Gigabyte have some sort of advantage? If not,i'm still going for the XFX Black Edition.
And how much will the i3 bottleneck it?

There is no advantage to having multiple things by the same manufacturer, except for guaranteed compatibility. This shouldn't be a problem on motherboards / Graphics cards anyway, because those should always be compatible, regardless of brand (unless you buy two shady vietnamese brands, in which case one would call it upon themselves to last a good two days with their components).
The i3 shouldn't bottleneck it at all, if just a little. CPU power isn't important when gaming, and it becomes even less relevant once Mantle shows an increase in its usage / NVidia provides support or brings something similar. In case you don't know about Mantle, it's a low-level API and using it enables devs to stress the GPU more, in favor of the CPU. Basically, don't worry about bottlenecks. People who tell you they are there, don't know what they're talking about. Here is proof provided by Jay. Do note he is using a GTX 680 in that video, which was besides the titan the most powerful single-core GPU on the market at that time. Performance similar to a 280x I believe, but it might be off.
So yes, don't ever worry about bottlenecking unless you use ancient processors.
Builder tag is nothing special, it's basically what makes that Corsair PSU 'non-OEM'. Difference between CX600 and CX600M is that a few cables are optionally attachable on the 600M. Get the M if you want to keep cable-management clean or if your case doesn't have too much space to tuck cables.
Very informative post,thanks a lot!
Also, the official site of that XFX Black Edition says the minimum PSU requirement is 750w.
That's just BS,right?
R-r...right?
It accounts for full system load on a crappy quality PSU
It accounts for full system load on a crappy quality PSU
So a Corsair CX600M Bronze will handle it fine?
So a Corsair CX600M Bronze will handle it fine?
Certainly.
EDIT: Sauce. You can use this to somewhat calculate your wattage usage. I ended up on 569 recommended, which is based off of the fact that your computer will run on 100% load and will have a capacitor aging of 25%.
Not to mention, I am running a CX600M in my current computer with an overclocked FX-6300 and a CU II GTX 770. You should be fine.
Hate to bump, but the XFX 280x Black Edition I was gonna buy is ~€232 and the XFX 290 Black Edition is ~€302. Is that pricejump worth it? I know i'll max anything out on my 1440x900 display but I want to upgrade to 1080p in the future so i'm just asking.
[editline]9th October 2014[/editline]
Max anything out on 1440x900 with the 280x I meant. Can't edit because of edit blank whatever thing bullshit
[editline]9th October 2014[/editline]
+will my 600w PSU handle it?
In my opinion both cards will allow you to max out current games at 1080p, so I'd just get the 280x. Assuming your PSU has the connectors and it's not some cheap no name brand, you should be fine on power.

PSU is Corsair CX600, and thanks. I probably will then.
