• Unable to achieve stable fps in Fallout 4

I recently came back to Fallout 4 after a 8 or 9 month break and found out that I am unable to achieve stable fps. I've tried everything from overclocking my cpu+gpu (oc'ing my gpu made the game crash) to editing the .ini's and basically playing on whatever the lowest option is. Nothing has really worked. Try increasing RAM speed. Oddly enough, you can improve FPS by getting faster RAM.
I can't really increase my ram speed. I get a overclocking failed error whenever I do but that's for a different time.
Try setting RAM speeds to motherboard stock. I've noticed Fallout 4 is sensitive to DPC latency. Also make sure your motherboard drivers are installed, such as the Intel Chipset Device Software. I was not able to achieve stable FPS in Fallout 3 without those installed, and it's easily missed. Since you have an older chipset, you may need to get an older version, from around the time your motherboard was released. You can usually find a compatible version on the motherboard CD or support website for that model.
Ram speed is set to auto in the bios. That's about as low as it'll go. For the drivers.. everything is up to date as most of the stuff was released in 2012 or 2013.
You are just running the game on one of those screens? I can see there being a memory bottleneck on the 2gb of video ram there if tri screen.

Just one screen. Borderless window enabled too as I like to alt tab and look at some guides. You can try downloading Nvidia Inspector and editing the Fallout 4 profile to have the following settings: Maximum pre-rendered frames = 1 All Anti-aliasing settings to off or force off Texture Filtering - Anisotropic filter optimization = On Texture Filtering - Anisotropic sample optimization = On Texture Filtering - Trilinear Optimization = On Multi-display/Mixed-gpu acceleration = Multi-display performance mode Power management mode = Prefer maximum performance Thread optimization = On Under the SLI section, set every possible you can to "One", "Single", or "Force_Single". Make sure to hit apply afterwards and start the game up again. You can also use Bilagio's Fallout 4 Manager to edit specific settings properly. I would personally turn off Godrays, Anti-aliasing off, Grass Density to 9999 and grass draw distance to 0 (unless you really want grass), turn off Volumetric Lighting, lower shadow resolution & draw distance & shadow LOD, and possibly raise the Mipmap skipping to 3.

Think it screwed up my game even more and unfortunately I can't use Nvidia Inspector. I honestly don't know why but for some reason it won't run or do anything. If that's the case, it might mean that there's an issue with your drivers. Have you used Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to fully uninstall the current drivers, then updated the newest ones? You should get the installer for the newest drivers, then use DDU to rebott into Safe Mode and uninstall the drivers there, then reboot and install the Nvidia drivers.

I still get frame rate drops but nothing as bad as before and I can live with losing 20 fps instead of 59.
