Fucking UAC.
I realize that, I was just saying that Denzo's issue seemed like it could have been fixed just as easily by moving certain special folders. In my case, I've gotten used to keeping all of my data in the special folders so I have nothing to add to the libraries. Edit: broke mah automerge
But I am saying that moving those special folders fucks certain things up and it completely fucks up if you remove the disk ( BAWW WHERE DID UR DOCUMENTS GO ??!?!!?! is what Windows XP would do ).
I don't mind libraries, I don't really move stuff that much though. I have to say I hate the 'Do you want this program to make changes to your computer' when I start up steam. And everything else, and I don't want to turn it off because then I feel insecure.
Outlook Express. [editline]03:12PM[/editline] AKA Windows Mail.
I don't see what all the hate for Libraries is for. If you don't add extra folders it acts pretty much as a folder. I mean if the public documents bit annoys you them remove it.
but then its like putting a folder inside an empty folder, which is retarded.
I always thought Media Center was pretty useless, since my TV tuners are never supported, and come with better DVR software anyways. I can also live without the Start Orb/ Start Button, since it's just filled with duplicate shortcuts of what's on my desktop and dock. I never really use them. What Windows features can you do without?
Media center is much better than most of the shit you get with a new TV tuner. Start menu is still useful for finding things (start menu search) and going to your most used stuff.
Outlook Express. [editline]03:12PM[/editline] AKA Windows Mail.
Gone already.
MSN also, windows 7 libraries. i think its stupid. they should let you turn that off. and "recent places/files", as i almost always just use the program to open the file, and it usually saves the location. and i mostly select places from the sidebar in explorer, anyways. and IE. obvious reason.
Libraries are for HomeGroup.
I agree with 7's Libraries, they keep dumbing down Windows so fucktards don't mess things up or get lost, but technical people like myself just find it annoying, and somewhat insulting. :/
HomeGroup is not useless for people who know what they're doing, it's a hell of a lot easier and more secure than setting it up manually. Just type in the password and you're done. [editline]04:57PM[/editline]
Fucking UAC.
UAC isn't so annoying in Windows 7. Aaah, this thread is going to drive me insane, almost every feature you people are mentioning i use a lot :/ [editline]05:01PM[/editline]
I hate Vista compaired to 7, it just seems so bloated in comparison. Probably the memory management and kernel optimizations... And I haven't defragged my Vista install in the 7 months I've used it. :v:
Windows 7 is the exact same thing as vista but with a new taskbar. You seem to be suffering from the Mojave effect. Or am i missing something? :psypop:

Internet explorer. Paint. SendKeys incompatibility. >.>
Internet explorer. Paint. SendKeys incompatibility. >.>
NOEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Keep paint :}
BOOTMGR. caps.
I can't think of any, actually... I find everything very useful... except IE, perhaps.
WinSAT/WEI is the only thing I could do without. Ugh, piece of shit. Thinks a 4870 x2 is bad.
I find Internet Explorer, Paint, Outlook Express, Homegroups, and Libraries completely useless.
I find Internet Explorer, Paint, Outlook Express, Homegroups, and Libraries completely useless.
i agree except paint. its useful for saving screen captures
Maybe Disk Cleanup.
I find Internet Explorer, Paint, Outlook Express, Homegroups, and Libraries completely useless.
IE is probably the only useless thing there. Paint is good for quick and dirty editing, OE is good if you don't have Outlook 2007 or whatever, and i've already talked about homegroups 3 times.
IE is probably the only useless thing there. Paint is good for quick and dirty editing, OE is good if you don't have Outlook 2007 or whatever, and i've already talked about homegroups 3 times.
Live Mail or Windows Mail both surpass OE.
Media Centre
I haven't found a use for Media Centre yet. UAC really annoys me even in 7 so I've turned that off. Also the games feature in Vista/7, I've never used it. I seem to be the only one who really loves the libraries feature in 7, because I dual boot I've got two separate document folders, and being able to access them both in the same folder is brilliant.
Media Centre, IE, Homegroups, Libraries, Security Centre, Indexing, UAC, Remote Desktop, Games, and a bunch of things that aren't necessarily 'features' but are there anyway.
I don't really like media center, but I've been using it so far for DVDs because WMP doesn't disable the screensaver automatically.
I find Internet Explorer, Paint, Outlook Express, Homegroups, and Libraries completely useless.
Same here. I vLite these shitty apps out, along with wordpad, windows live mail, shitloads of useless drivers, and other various useless crap I'll end up replacing with superior 3rd party apps.
I don't really like media center, but I've been using it so far for DVDs because WMP doesn't disable the screensaver automatically.
MC would be great if my TV Tuner was compatible with Vista/7.
The Address Book. Holy fuck I don't ever use OE.
MC would be great if my TV Tuner was compatible with Vista/7.
I've had 3 different TV tuners over the past 5 years, and not one of them wirks in Media Center. So I feel your pain brother. I used them in XP/Vista Media Center, haven't tried them in 7, but it's pointless now because they aren't HD tuners, now they're just trash.
Here's a feature I could do without: Windows 7 (maybe Vista too?) automatically applying compatibility settings without asking me, with no way to remove them except for digging into the registry.
I don't really like media center, but I've been using it so far for DVDs because WMP doesn't disable the screensaver automatically.
Does it just not work for you? cause I've defo seen that option in WMP
The Address Book. Holy fuck I don't ever use OE.
Haha. Yeah the only reason I have any contacts on my PC is my iPhone syncing with it. I have absolutely no use for it.
