Oh, ok. I'll fix that now.
Looking good. Personal preference that you might want to consider: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139004&Tpk=550%20vx

No, there are others. But he doesn't need a freken crap PSU, that's for sure.
He doesn't need a freken crap PSU, that's for sure.
The ocz psu is fine. I have one it runs perfectly and there are many others that will vouch for them. All you have is that is that you have only used corsiar and you don't want to venture into the scary world of choices.
It is fine when it works, probably. I say that cause my friend just had one and it gave up trying to power his system (5770, 965). It's just personal preference for high quality PSUs, that's all.

Will I need a sound card or will the onboard one be O.K.?
onboard is fine
fine unless you have high end headphones or speakers and / or are into sound in a decently big way.
Yumyum is correct. Why 6 gigabytes of RAM? Even though games are becoming more memory-hungry (i.e. Global Agenda asks for 3 gigabytes), more RAM =/= a lot better computer.
OK, so no sound card, 4 Gigabytes, and a decent PSU. I think I'm set. Do I need an antistatic mat/bracelet? Would a precision screwdriver set be a wise purchase?
It's not necessary, but the bracelets don't cost anything so if you want to take that precaution go ahead. A good Phillips screw driver on the other hand, that is a good thing to have. Look for one that's narrow, with good grip and preferably with a magnetic tip.
What do you mean free? Do they come with something?
Sorry, figure of speech. What I meant by that is that they cost very little. [editline]02:13AM[/editline] http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16899261005&cm_re=anti_static_wrist_strap-_-99-261-005-_-Product But as I said they're not really necessary, just be careful. Use common sense - e.g don't build it on a synthetic carpet or touch ESD sensitive components directly. Also, touching the case occasionally during the build will have the same effect as a strap.
I've built 4 of my own computers and even run one of my p4 motherboards to test on my rug floor without any casualties. You can simply ground yourself by touching the case and you're set.
Unless you plan on doing any recording, onboard sound jis fine.
global agenda is a crap fucking game get bfbc2 if you like fps
That was a great opinion to share in the PC building forum.
global agenda is a crap fucking game get bfbc2 if you like fps
First of all, Global Agenda is a TPS. Also, I was using it as an example, not that I like it. I still have to try it as a matter of fact. :eng101:
