Reasons why, well, the reason i don't really like the cm690 is that it generates so much sound i can hear it almost from the other room, I didn't care about the led or the amount of dust.
Cases don't make noise, fans do. Buy new nice low flow low DB Scythe fans.
well i'm thinking this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SC-062-CL
i'm probably going to be getting a home cinema surround system soon, so i wanna be able to hook it up to that. would be good if i could find something with DTS-HD support as well
won't it be useless without speakers/headphones that support 7.1?
there aren't too many around yet IIRC.
Ah thanks, I realize that now, I swore I've seen 'Hybrid SLI' on the Apple site but looking back It's not there, my mind is tricking me, anyways it's not a major issue at all. 8GB of DDR3 is cool but $600 for 2x 4GB DIMM's isn't lol. The only gaming that will be done on the machine will most likely be a match of Age of Empires III, maybe some L4D,Call of Duty 5 Co-Op, and possibly the Sims 3 (my girlfriends digital crack)
Most of the usage of the laptop will be for graphic arts projects.

Get a good set of speakers and compare HDAudio onboard or AC'97 to the same speakers on a good X-Fi card and you'll really hear the difference.
I own a set of Creative 5.1 Surround Sound Speakers.
I use a Sound Blaster Audigy 24 bit, and it sounds near identical to my friend's X-FI with the same set of speakers.

No, it could output anything.

maybe I'm wrong, but why buy something because it supports 7.1 if you don't have speakers or headphones that do?
well, actually I think that only applies to headphones. I just hear that if you use 5.1 with headphones designed for 7.1 or vice versa it can sound bad.
like using a logictec g35 with onboard audio.

i won't be buying it because it supports 7.1, i would be buying it for its quality and other desired features

Did you know that (HOLY FUCKING SHIT) pretty much all integrated audio solutions these days support 7.1?
I haven't seen a mobo without 7.1 in like 4 years or something
Lemme find a really low-end mobo so I can prove you wrong.
Even the low end mobos usually have some crappy 7.1
Even the low end mobos usually have some crappy 7.1
No they don't,
I've assembled a cheapskate Core2Duo build for a friend, and the Asrock mobo only had 3 audio jacks = it could only do 5.1 surround.
I don't have 7.1

not really.
not really.
Dig your hole deeper, I don't care.
357 mobos that support 8-channel (7.1) audio:

Pris, do you actually do anything throughout the day (besides posting on this website)?

Ignore shitty sound quality and video quality

No offense, but your account is from 2007, and you have posted around 18.000 times.
Most people who joined at that year have only around 4000 max.
what

I don't even know what your trying to do.

Watercooling without overclocking is a waste.

That doesn't mean I sit here for the entire day and just post. I'll admit back in 07 I was 'addicted' for a short while. There's people that have way more posts than I do, and you still don't see them constantly posting each and every day.

according to that my onboard audio supports 7.1
which it doesn't as far as I know.

What do you mean?
If your motherboard supports 8-channel audio, it supports 7.1.
Watercooling without overclocking is a waste.
Clock @ 3.0 overclocked from 2.8
Happy?
The highest my CPU ever goes when doing computing is probably 75% My ram will max though because of vista. It runs at 45% on idle.
You could do that on stock cooling/voltages.
You could do that on stock.
Thanks...I didn't know that.
Is your job to try and force me to overclock? That isn't why I got the computer I have. People just don't understand sustainability and people like you cause the downfall of the human race.
Now you know.
he could, but, listen carefully now, it is his money, and his computer, and he can do what he wants, and can use watercooling for whatever reason. maybe it's for the quiet, maybe he plans to oc later, it doesn't matter.
