Uh, like $150 for phone, internet and tv. Same we were paying for comcast except we were getting 5 Mb/s up 5 Mb/s down from them.

Thats the new verizon fiber optic line? We don't have that around here yet, also I heard their install techs cause fires.

Not really. If he gets cable with all the digital channels like HBO, Cinemax, etc.. then it's a good deal. I pay about 60$/month for comcast internet and basic cable, no phone. I get 6MB down 1MB up :/

Fires? My dad kept an eye on the install guy the entire time, and the guy who installed it was pretty nice anyway.

Apparently verizon tech's are notorious for drilling into power lines through walls of the home. One lady said the tech drilled right into the fusebox. Aslong as you keep an eye on him you should be fine.

It depends on location. America has terrible internet rates and cost. To get half decent connection is going to cost a fortune. Europeans pay much less for net speeds.

Lucky for me i can get a DIY offer, where i drill the holes and dig a small "trench" for the fiber cable myself.
So they only have to lay the fiber cable and install it.
We probably won't ever get FIOS here in Miami florida. We are stuck with ATT and Comcast. Both terrible businesses with awful rates and speed.

We got FiOS up here in Tampa back in 05. It might be slowly working its way down to Miami.

IIRC someone said that the reason Tampa has FIOS is because they were never part of Bellsouth/ATT and Comcast's lines. Aslong as you are situated outside that area you are fine. I doubt Miami ever will be :/
