Oh baby, my internets is so fast. Lol. Pretty shitty for seattle.
It depends on location. America has terrible internet rates and cost. To get half decent connection is going to cost a fortune. Europeans pay much less for net speeds.
This annoys me! You go saying it is expensive to get a half decent connection, and thats $49 AUD a month for 14gb off peak downloads 10 on and thats just internet. This is the average speed in Australia and to get 5mb more in speed it costs double than what you pay for this. And we have only recently got ADSL2+ in Australia so that may help?

I can get 5-6Mbit at times (the plan is 24Mbit max). $100/month with phone. But yes, Australia's internet is shit.
I'd love that, just 1mb more and I'd be happy. I am thinking of going to internode anyway cause it is so much better than TPG =D

Where you get a whole bunch of upload when you need it for a short time.
$43 a month. I have a Pentium II machine I've been trying to use as a server, the only problem is that the BIOS throws a fit when you try to use hard drives larger than 6.5 GB, and the hard drive that came with it broke.

We have a thread for this. http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=731832
tried updating the BIOS?
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=19&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=92853 There aren't any updates. I'll probably have to get a small hard drive for booting, and another one for data (I have a 13GB around here somewhere that I tore out of an old iMac). Here are the specs: 266Mhz Pentium II ~256 MB RAM 3D Rage pro AGP 2X (integrated) Hitachi DVD-ROM from 1997 165W PSU (4 amps on the 12V rail :smug:) Case: priority mail box PCI network card I'm not sure what distro to use. Command-line is alright (ubuntu live-CD...doesn't work that well), but I'd prefer for it to have everything for a web server set up already (apache, php, ftp, etc.). Arch linux fits what I want for the most part, but I don't really want to have to download everything. I think Xubuntu might be my best choice; it doesn't require a lot of resources, and I can set everything up easily.
Whoops wrong thread.
I nostalgia'd back to the days of having a wired home phone.
All the phones in my house are wired.. Why fix what isn't broken.

Horray. :geno: I would rather be downloading things fast :v: [editline]07:01PM[/editline]
All the phones in my house are wired.. Finally bit the bullet and bought an SSD. Got Windows 7 Ultimate installed on it and am lovin it so far. Probably one of the better purchases I have made recently imo.
