My friend's dell computer came with a motherboard like that. Actually I think all of the dells we have came with a BTX motherboard. Anyway, he had to learn that the hard way, he bought a new case but it was for an ATX motherboard so it wouldn't work with the dell one.
The wondrous thing about many Dell BTX mobos is that they're not fully compliant with the BTX standard, so they won't work in many BTX cases.

He even called up tech support and specifically asked them if there would be any issues just moving the computer to a new case, they didn't mention anything.
They would not advocate that at all, of course they wouldn't say anything.
Well the guy we talked to specifically said that we would not run into any issues. Doesn't really matter though, he ended up buying a new motherboard anyway as part of a custom build. Which was better than trying to salvage the Dell motherboard for the build.
Since I sold my gaming Rig, I had a spare Coolermaster Wavemaster, So I decided to rehouse my HTPC/Server into it because the case it was in had terrible cooling and was far too small to house the capture cards and HDDs even WITH a modular Tagan PSU. In Wiring Closet Yay for removable Mobo tray! Took some parts from old rig to put into it too: AMD Athlon 6000+ x2 3GB DDR2 800 ATI Radeon x850XT 256MB 2x 400GB SATA2 Samsung drives LG Bluray/HDDVD Combo Drive Connects to LG TV in room behind left wall Via HDMI. That's why there is cables down into that floorboard, I haven't Properly wired in the A/V Plate yet, Sourcing parts and researching the possibility of CAT5 Delivery - I have FAAR too much shielded CAT5 left (KRONE!) so this may prove a good use. (Some experimentation is in order methinks :D)

What progress have you done, it looks the same as it did when you got it a week ago.
School/sports/work have raped my time, but I managed to get the bottom handle fixed. Pics await, since I'm at work.

The case was a good buy. Can't beat that price.
Pentium, your case on the first pic looks scratched up. Why?
Were you expecting something better for a case that cost me $20 and came from a recycler?
Yes. :smug:
I ran out of money when I got to the case. I apologize for the shitty camera phone picture.

I need to do some cable management, some dusting, and give it a good wipe down.
Very nice. I love the color choice. Cable management definitely needs to be done.
That case was extremely good looking. Not like the "haffers".
Who doesn't love Lian-Li cases?? :buddy:
Me.
That case was extremely good looking. Not like the "haffers".
The Lian-Li does look nice, It's really set off by the good quality pictures/lighting. Robbanzking Don't you have a Twelve Hundred? I wouldn't consider a Twelve Hundred to be an artist masterpiece either.
I got a corsair 800d.
You had the Twelve Hundred recently though, I was not aware you bought the Obsidian. Why did you feel the need to upgrade a Twelve Hundred to that? That seems rather a extravagant purchase just for the hell of it.
I think I remember a pic of an obsidian with really bad cable management because he couldn't be bothered at the time
I got a corsair 800d.
I love the all matte black look of the 800D Pretty slick.
the only thing I don't like about the obsidian is the rubber holes, there just seems to be too many of them you have this lovely smooth look then the inside looks a bit too complicated but functionality over style and all that

Woah that is pretty. I love it. Very organized. I wish I could do the whole re-route cables behind the motherboard tray thing. That's the only problem I have with my case. Annoys me.
Well it looks better now than it did before.
trogdor why do you have 12gb ram ...and a stock cooler (which i can only assume means no OC either)? there is no benefit at all to having that much memory, your PC would run the same with half of that, and probably even half of that again - you won't use it correct me if you're a modeller or something... my point is that a better cooler and an OC would be a much better performance boost for your machine [editline]10:00PM[/editline] jjeeez that obsidian looks nice, too bad it's expensive as heck

Its nice to be able to work without having the RAM issue in the back of my mind the entire time. I also won't have to worry about upgrading RAM just for games for a long time. :) As for the cooler, I keep meaning to find something. I did look into water, but the mid tower is very cramped, and I frankly am not buying a new case. I just paid $400 for that Lian Li [I like my electronics to be as sexy as possible. Yeah, dumb, buts its my money] Obviously I don't overclock. I am thinking about looking into some other coolers, but PC's are far from my priority currently, and it runs just fine the way it is now.
